Purpose Position
Expected to grow through experience into role as computer system expert for manufacture of Fiber products at Sullivan Park facility. The employee will initially be training and working as a team member on a blankmaking platform upgrade. Through this training the employee will become an expert in blankmaking computer equipment design, operation and maintenance. Once skilled at blankmaking, learning will continue system by system on remaining fiber making platforms within the fiber operations department until employee is proficient in the full suite of equipment within the department. Additionally, the controls supervisor is expected to retire within the next five years and an appropriate candidate may also be considered for succession planning.
Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (Electrical, Mechanical, Robotics, Mechatronics, Control Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering or related discipline) with 3+ years’ experience Technical background in an Engineering or Computer Science Discipline Strong computer programming skills: VB, C, Realtime systems Ability to integrate computers into manufacturing processes to increase efficiencies and lower cost Ability to troubleshoot simple low voltage electrical circuitry including the ability to read electrical schematics Ability to work cooperatively with employees from multiple functions and process areas Attention to detail and ability to document (e.g., equipment setups, job aids, drawings) and follow rigorous processes Desired Familiarity with the following: MES, Microsoft Windows, VxWorks, iFIX, RTP I/O, EthernetIP I/O, VB.Net, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, LabVIEW or equivalent. Electrical design, controls design, experience with motion systems, PLC ladder logic (e.g., Allen Bradley (PLC and HMI), Beckhoff) Knowledge of manufacturing/production operations and scheduling requirements Familiarity with optical fibers and/or processes Responsibilities Assist team of engineers to provide R&D capability, production support, upgrades and troubleshooting for R&D and low volume manufacturing operation; Work with technicians, scientists and engineers to ensure reliable equipment operation via automated control systems and user interfaces Support process and product optimization/improvement efforts; Develop plans for innovative solutions to technical problems and follow through to implementation Provide documentation and training for engineers and/or production associates as needed for new processes, equipment, or control systems Participate in capital projects Some after hour, on-call support may be needed

The range for this position is $87,309.00 - $120,050.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
