Job Description• Supporting the product development team in all questions regarding test methodology for achieving the relevant reliability and quality. First contact person for the EPV, project manager and the QPV regarding test issues.
• Responsible for developing optimal product qualification and reliability test plans for products.
• Coordinator (planning, scheduling, organizing, defining specifications) of the testing service team.
• Gathers, examines and correlates basic reliability data from field studies and other sources.
• Ensures that reliability test methods and processes meet PT standards, support the BES-PE approach and fulfill customer requirements.
• Initiates elemental engineering studies/measurements to identify failures modes and presents details of the analysis to project team for approval/feedback.
• Originates and develops analysis methods for determining reliability of components, equipment, and processes. Acquires data and analyzes the data. Prepares diagrams, charts, drawings, calculations, and reports for defining reliability problems and makes recommendations for improvements.
• Issue reports on reliability results obtained at in-house test and at our test subcontractors. Write and publish technical reports.
• Manage failure/reliability improvements activities.
• Provide guidance to internal team and interface with QMM regarding reliability questions or concerns.
• Create new test procedures and methods if necessary.
• Apply existing test procedures and methods.
• Revise test procedures and methods based on changing requirements from the project team, market warranty feedback, UAP and BE requirement.
• Develop the necessary test method/device, coordination with internal and external testing labs.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, e.g. working instructions.
• Follow the project schedule according TTM process.
• Ensure all test procedures and documents are up-to-date.
• Apply content driven engineering (follow BES-PE principles).
• Apply all processes according to valid PT and Bosch procedures published in BGN.
• Support and take over special tasks on section and department level as assigned by the superior.
• Bachelor or Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 3 years experience in Test Engineering, Product Engineering, Product Reliability Engineering or Quality Engineering.
• Expertise in physics of failure of machine elements and/or electronic components.
• Knowledge on statistical data analysis and reliability statistics.
• Exposure to the design and/or manufacturing process of plastic and metal components.
• Knowledge in transfer of technical and legal requirements into a testing method (procedure, device) by applying a systematic approach.
• Understanding of norms and test specifications.
• Understanding cause-effect relationships of technical systems.
• Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate tasks with internal team and external subcontractors.
• Independent working within a project team.
• Outstanding skills and abilities in field of testing.
• PC applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
