As a Sr. Field Service Technician here at Honeywell, you will have the opportunity to provide advanced technical support and expertise to our customers in the Industrial Automation (IA) business unit. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues, ensuring the successful implementation of our solutions, and driving customer satisfaction. Your expertise and commitment to excellence will play a crucial role in the success of our field service operations and the growth of our business. You will report directly to our Field Service Engineering Manager and you'll work out of our Grand Prairie, TX location. In this role, you will impact the efficiency, productivity, and safety of our customers' operations by providing exceptional technical support and service.
Days/Shift: Employees will work Night Shift (7pm to 7:30am) on a 3/4 schedule. Will Work 3 days on 4 days off then 4 days on 3 days off and every other Saturday.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•\tTroubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues for customers.
•\tProvide expert-level technical support for our Industrial Automation (IA) solutions.
•\tCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth implementation of solutions.
•\tLead training sessions for customers and field service technicians.
•\tStay informed about industry trends and advancements, offering suggestions for improvements.
•\tHave hands-on experience with PLC systems, sensors, motors, inverters, control panels, hydraulics, pneumatics, and gearboxes.
•\tConduct both preventive and reactive maintenance tasks.
•\tUse CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to report work orders and provide breakdown data.
•\tPerform maintenance and troubleshooting for all electrical and mechanical aspects of Material Handling Equipment (MHE), such as conveyor systems, sortation systems, robotics, and Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS).
•\tAdjust and maintain scanners, cameras, field buses, and printer applicators.
•\tReset, repair, or replace adjustable parts (belts, chains, cables) and wear components (guides, bearings, wheels, rollers, pulleys).
•\tClean, lubricate, and calibrate equipment as required.
•\tFollow job plans, procedures, and manuals for efficient service.
•\tMaintain and troubleshoot a range of components, including motors, photo eyes, relays, proximity sensors, solenoids, motor starters, tachometers, and encoders.
•\tAssist with basic troubleshooting of electronics and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
•\tPerform maintenance and troubleshoot all types of industrial robots.
•\tUtilize mobile devices and asset management systems to create and close work orders, logging relevant data (labor hours, downtime, causes, solutions, and parts used).
•\tFollow safety protocols (Lock Out/Tag Out, Arc Flash, etc.), wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and ensure a safe working environment.
•\tAdhere to company standards, operating procedures, and safety regulations.
YOU MUST HAVE
•\tAt least 2 years of relevant experience or education in Material Handling Equipment, including conveyors, sortation systems, and mechanical troubleshooting/maintenance/installation.
•\tHigh School Diploma or equivalent.
•\tStrong technical expertise in Industrial Automation technologies.
•\tExcellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
•\tAbility to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
•\tStrong customer focus and relationship-building skills.
•\tExperience in conveyor system maintenance.
