Sr. Finance Manager
About this role:
The Global FP&A arm of Gartner is currently seeking talented people leader with an entrepreneurial mindset to join its Research team in India. As a member of this team, you will spearhead a team of high calibre, high performing associates to drive analytics and reporting. This position will perform a key role in providing business analysis, decision support and thought leadership to Gartner’s key business unit -Research & Advisory(R&A), Global Service & Delivery (GS&D) & Global Product Management (GPM) and their leaders. You will also work on some of the high impacting strategic projects to drive key organizational goals, operational & economic productivity of the overall above-mentioned business. We are looking for ambitious individuals with outstanding, proven analytical capabilities and intellectual curiosity who enjoy partnering with business leaders to grasp large complex data sets and develop clear business solutions. You are a well-rounded problem solver with the ability to drive results in a high-energy growth environment and will also devote your time building a high performing team – hire, develop, coach, and enable associates to drive innovation, growth and retention of business.
What you’ll do:
Develop robust financial models for Gartner Research BU and provide superior analytical and business support to the business units to ensure they are equipped with the insight and analysis to support investments/decisions.
Contribute to key aspects of Research BUs processes including monthly forecasting and results analysis and OC presentations
Convert “top-down” business initiative/objectives/requirements into actionable data analytics projects as well as conceiving and proposing “bottom-up” analytics innovations
Continuously improve quality of processes & deliverables by establishing a regular process check and measurement mechanism.
Analysing lagging and leading business KPIs – engagement, retention to generate actionable insights and suggest operational actions attached to it
Partnering with internal stakeholders to learn, ideate, and recommend automation alternatives to analyst’s manual work streams
Lead the annual revenue modelling and quarterly forecast process and identify areas of risk and opportunities to enhance business models
Act as the analytics lead for Research BUs
Lead and mentor a team of analysts to drive cutting edge analytics
Manage and coordinate team projects, test of new processes, and help with finance system enhancement
Build highly effective team by recruiting, interviewing, and assessing talent
Day to day management of 3-4 associates promoting teamwork and individual development
What you’ll need:
8+ experience with a bachelor’s degree in finance, Engineering, Analytics or Statistics, or similar area required.
6+ year experience with a master’s degree in finance, Analytics, Business administration, Economics, or related areas preferred.
5+ years relevant professional experience n directly managing a team of associates
Experience involving data analytics, project management, executive presentations and independent thought leadership
Experience developing and applying descriptive, predictive, prescriptive models-Ability to extrapolate linkages between large amounts of financial and operational data, generate insights and distill complex concepts into actionable information.
Seasoned professionals having proven track record of driving business impact with strong business acumen, problem solving leadership (qualitative & quantitative).
Excellent communication, collaboration, prioritization, critical thinking, influencing, and change management skills
Independent thinking and complex problem solving and modelling skills
Incumbent must have strong interpersonal and analytical skills with the ability to summarize and present meaningful financial data.
Strong time management skills to prioritize workload and meet deadlines with accurate results, even in high-pressure situations
Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture by being approachable, providing continuous encouragement to team, identifying skill gaps and communicating team goals
Experience in statistical analysis programs(R/Python/SQL) & advanced knowledge of PowerBI is required
