An opportunity awaits to join a motivated and energetic team providing HIMCO management and key stakeholders throughout The Hartford with detail analysis and forecasting support for a ~$60 billion investment portfolio.
The Senior Financial Analyst will report directly to the Director, Investment Finance and will play a key role in supporting the forecasting of net investment income and investment capital, in addition to various HIMCO & Finance strategic initiatives. This role includes interaction with portfolio management personnel, FP&A counterparts and other teammates across the Finance department.
This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in the Hartford, CT office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
Primary responsibilities include the following:
Support the The Hartford’s net investment income (NII) outlook process which includes the forecasting of invested assets, NII and yields for The Hartford’s General Account portfolioAssist in the regulatory and rating agency investment related capital reporting, outlook and analysis processes under various market scenarios partnering with other areas of The Hartford including Treasury and Enterprise Risk ManagementProvide detailed analysis and monitoring of NII & Capital results and develop improved variance analysisProvide valuable financial insights and management reporting, including the creation of presentations supporting Executive Leadership Team, quarterly business review, and other internal meetingsAssist in the production of monthly key performance indicators utilized by HIMCO ELTAbility to react and respond to various ad hoc analyses related to the investment portfolioContinuous improvement mindset supporting automation and enhanced analytics utilizing the TM1 Application and other platformsRequirements:
The successful candidate must have strong technical and analytic skills, and an understanding of capital markets and business drivers is a plus. Candidate must be highly motivated, inquisitive, and able to work in a team environment.
Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting preferred (but not required), 3-5 years of experience, preferably in a related investment/finance professionSolid knowledge of capital markets with a desire to continue learning in a rapidly changing environmentProactive individual with well-developed communication skills and strong attention to detailAbility to successfully balance multiple competing priorities with a proven ability to solve problems, both independently and collaboratively in a team environmentProficiency with MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPointCompensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
