Job DescriptionSuccessful candidate will be the primary Financial support for the Entertainment Operations & LAPS (Location and Production Services) departments at Universal Studios Hollywood Theme Park. Develop and maintain best in class financial processes, improve operating performance, and align decision making with the business' key performance indicators. Provide accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis. Establish and maintain detailed budgets and reforecasts. Partner with operators to maximize operational efficiencies. Lead/assist with various ad hoc projects as required. Interact with Senior Management on a regular basis to deliver financial updates.
Responsibilities:
Drive Department Performance
Partner with operating management and the finance team to develop and implement best in class metrics and analysis to drive operating performance. Learn the Theme Park Entertainment and LAPS businesses including challenges and opportunities to positively contribute to those important aspects of the park. Develop and implement best in class financial processes. Provide financial coaching to all operating partners. Help deliver the best Entertainment offering for our guests within the context of spending targets and objectives.Financial Reporting, Budget Preparation and Analysis:
Responsible for month end for both departments. Prepare monthly performance packages for department management addressing budget variances, and status of current projects. Prepare annual operating plan, monthly forecasts and latest estimates. Prepare monthly position update for senior management, department and Finance.Perform in-depth analytical, operational and budget analyses on actual financial performance versus budgeted targets and versus key business drivers. Extend findings to provide meaningful recommendations.Maximize Operational Efficiencies:
Strengthen controls to ensure a “no surprises” environment. Leverage relationships with operating partners to optimize efficiencies and influence behavior.Ensure all appropriate accounting and financial procedures/standards are followed.QualificationsBasic Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business/accounting/finance or related field.Minimum 2 years experience in a similar Financial roleWillingness to work overtime, and/or on weekends with short notice on occasion.Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office in Universal City a minimum of three days per week.Desired Characteristics:
