Description:
Developing flavor applications for beverages aligned with the company’s strategies, industry standards and practices to showcase and promote the sale of McCormick flavors. Product Development activities may include product/ingredient research, bench top flavor application development, samples preparation, sample labeling, product tasting and commercialization activities, and capable of understanding the customer’s procedures for beverage manufacturing or flavor application. Completes moderately difficult assignments through the application of a broad knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures inherent to beverages design and manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
Developing beverage flavor application prototypes for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, aligned with current industry standards, practices and procedures, investigating, and assessing new ingredients and technologies. Apply and evaluate flavors in the proper developed bases or customer bases, to determine its best performance, define and propose adjustments to existing formulas. Prepare flavor applications samples as requested, for team evaluation or customer presentations and prepare reports, files, sample shipments and perform oral presentations. Beverage’s applications laboratory equipment operation, control, upgrade, and maintenance. Creation and maintenance of the laboratory broad raw materials supply. Keeping contact and networking with other beverage scientists of the Business Units to upgrade the laboratory outcome on a regular basis.
Requirements:
Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or related field. 5+ years of experience in beverage industrial formulation or development. Partial experience time in beverages production or flavor applications in a recognized flavor company would be acceptable. Ability to interpret data, solve complex problems with incomplete information and to manage risk in making critical decisions in specific /internal cases. Good computer skills including intermediate level of knowledge of Microsoft programs, Word, Power Point and Excel. MTeams and SAP/ERP. Good understanding of chemicals terminology and general handling information. Excellent organizational project management and problem-solving skills, and ability to deal with changing priorities and varying customer needs. Good understanding of flavor science and technology. Fluent English (written and spoken).
