Sr Hardware Test Engineer
Job Title: Hardware Test Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Hardware Test Engineer who will own all aspects of Flying Probe testing within our organization. This role involves developing, implementing, and debugging custom programming to test in-line production PCBAs. The successful candidate will support engineering efforts through hardware debugging and will play a cross-functional role in the long term, although the initial focus will be on flying probe systems.

ResponsibilitiesDesign, document, and implement tests for new products in collaboration with design engineers and manufacturing.Develop PCBA and end-of-line test plans.Develop and debug tests on a flying probe test platform.Design and implement test automation software to control products and test instruments.Design mechanical and electrical test fixtures.Configure windows-based test platforms and PC hardware.Maintain current test fixtures and software.Seek out and implement more efficient and innovative testing strategies that reduce test time while improving test coverage.Serve as the first-responder to test technicians’ questions, suggestions, and problems.Suggest product changes to Design Engineering to improve product quality and testability.Mentor junior Test Engineers.Analyze systems and write PCBA and end-of-line system test plans.Analyze and resolve hardware test issues.Provide training to factory workers on testing and debugging products.Prepare and submit progress reports.Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.Essential Skills

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical or Computer Science.Experience in designing and debugging tests on a flying probe test platform.Over 5 years of experience in a test engineering role, with a focus on designing and implementing production tests for advanced electronics.Knowledge of audio quality signal test methods.Familiarity with audio network protocols such as AVB.Experience with JTAG boundary-scan testing.Understanding of communication protocols including serial, I2C, SPI, and Ethernet.Proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as C#, LabView, C++, .NET, and Python.Experience in programming Windows applications for test automation.Knowledge of mixed signal circuit design and testing.Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.Capability to multi-task and adapt in a dynamic work environment while maintaining attention to detail.Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.Additional Skills & QualificationsMentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical support, skill development, and promoting best practices.Experience with any type of flying probe is highly desired.If no audio experience, a strong understanding of signal quality testing is sufficient (signal-to-noise ratio, frequency response, harmonic distortion).Experience programming and debugging on flying probe machinesPay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00
