About the role:
We are currently seeking a Sr Human Resources Business Partner to support employees and leadership at a mine location. Sr HRBP role includes but is not limited to, the interpretation and communication of policies, regulations, law, benefits, etc.; assist with internal investigations; recruitment; and new hire orientation. Perform complex and specialized administrative tasks including the management and oversight of records and reports.
Duties will Include:
Demonstrate safe personal behavior and help others be safe by conducting safety observations, participating in safety meetings, and offering safety improvement ideas. Support all hiring activities for assigned area(s) of responsibility including planning, prospecting/recruiting, and candidate assessment. Participate in posting, selection process, offer letter, onboarding, job fairs, new miner orientation and training. Provide site employees will full range of HR Support. Manage compliance across the business working with peers and the Senior HR Manager, mine leadership and employees advising leaders on employment law, policy interpretation, disciplinary procedures, and other employment related matters. Attend start-ups to address employee questions/concerns. Serve as the liaison between management and employees, while always reinforcing the Peabody values. Assist employees who are on disability, assist with complex pay issues, work with leadership on target numbers for forecast and help maintain target numbers. Conduct annual open enrollment meetings and communicate Plan changes each year. Provide support to employees with benefit related questions. Establish working relationships with third party administrator and STL Benefits staff. Provide administrative support to include record keeping, performance management, staffing changes, and filing as needed. Maintain required documentation. Assist managers/team leads/supervisors with complaints/issues with employees; help determine corrective actions type and assist with corrective action sessions. Participate in HR presentations, unemployment claims and hearings, SAWOL observations/interactions, SAWOL audits, Safe Start sessions and company-wide meetings. Other duties as assigned including special projects, policy updates, technician criteria review, training initiatives, etc.
The lifestyle:
This position is a full-time, onsite role, working from our North Antelope Rochelle Mine (NARM) outside Gillette Wyoming.
About you:
2+ years of relevant professional HR experience required with a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related subject required OR 6+ years of relevant professional HR experience without degree.
HR certification a plus.
Communication skills including verbal and written.
Must demonstrate strong analytical skills.
Attention to detail and confidentiality.
High proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoints, and a general knowledge of HRIS and computer applications, including web based.

Must have the ability to perform office-related tasks which may include prolonged sitting or standing Must have the ability to move from place to place within an office environment Must be able to use a computer Must have the ability to communicate effectively Some positions may require occasional repetitive motion or movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
