The Senior Human Resources (HR) Compliance Consultant supports human resources related compliance projects and programs with cross-functional teams focusing on improving and enhancing HR related policies, practices, and processes organization wide ensuring adherence to relevant healthcare, federal, state, and local labor laws in balance with business impact. This role is part of the broader People Operations team, using their expertise to help mitigate risk, manage costs, and continuously improve the employee experience and operational efficiencies by helping build best in class HR compliance solutions for Ochsner Health.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Make recommendations on practices, policies, and processes that balance legal risk with business impact. Help craft internal guidelines, procedures, change management processes and communications
Monitor the complex and rapidly changing landscape of federal, state, and local employment regulations, spot compliance issues, propose solutions backed by research, benchmarking and data visualization that incorporate compliance, operational efficiency, and possible cost savings
Lead and co-lead implementation of complex projects through collaboration with cross-functional partners in HR, legal, vendors, and operations with varying needs and pain points
Partner with applicable HR teams – Business Partners, Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Compensation, Talent Management, HR Information Systems, HR Data Management, HR Service Delivery and People Operations – to identify possible process changes and change management needed because of new or modified policies or regulations
Conduct audits of HR practices and processes to ensure compliance
Monitor measurable compliance controls related to labor laws, and healthcare certifications and education
In partnership with legal serve as a subject matter expert for federal, state, and local employment laws as well as healthcare related compliance and affiliated processes
Educate HR teams and operational staff on compliance process requirements, including best practices
Vendor management, including contract negotiations
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum 5 years of HR compliance related experience
Experience with federal and state employment laws and regulations including Title VII, ADA, ADEA, Family Medical Leave Act, other EEO laws, and federal and local laws affecting the employer-employee relationship
Project management and process improvement experience
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
