The Human Resources Business Partner serves as an activist for their business unit and will translate their knowledge of the business into solutions and actions taken in partnership with Human Resources. The individual in this role will be embedded within with the Insurance Claims business unit. This position will work out of either our Costa Mesa Administrative Office or Coppell Texas Office.
What You’ll Do:
Change Management: You will work with business leaders, individuals, teams, functional units, and the organization as a whole to facilitate change, strengthen organizational alignment and increase effectiveness of the execution. You will develop a strong knowledge of the business, strategy, products, etc. that enables them to develop broad based solutions.
Champions HR Strategies and Processes: You’ll ensure effective communication of HR products, services and programs (e.g., benefits, orientation, training and development initiatives, etc.). Identify compensation or other issues that are legitimately impacting the organization and works with internal partners and corporate resources in their resolution.
Organizational Execution: You will support the business strategy of assigned clients (business units) by identifying and implementing organizational effectiveness initiatives that enhance performance, productivity, and reduce cost while striving to maintain employee engagement. Initiate and maintain processes that provide robust two-way communication between leaders and team members.
Employee Relations Support: You will understand employee concerns/issues and facilitate resolution of more complex employee relations issues. You’ll partners with the employee relations team, line managers and supervisors in managing the business and integrating the human resource function with business activities to provide value added business support.
Coaching and Support: You’ll act as an internal consultant, identifying training resources, and partnering with others as appropriate in addressing issues (e.g., employee morale, interpersonal problems, work conditions, etc.). Counsel managers consistent with company policies/practices, legal considerations, as well as company priorities – advocating both business and HR concerns.
Performance Management: You will assist in the oversight of the performance management process for the assigned business unit. Support the consistent implementation of performance improvement and performance management processes within the organization and ensure implementation of agreed upon actions.
What You’ll Need:
Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Psychology or related field).
To thrive in this role you’ll have 5+ years of progressive Insurance Claims business experience with prior experience managing/leading a team, or, prior experience as a HR Business Partner, including experience with human capital issues (identifying/responding to talent workforce challenges, training, retention of employees via compensation/incentive schemes, and other HR related factors that may impact business operations). The successful candidate will be immersed into both the business and HR operations.
Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information.
Advanced computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Excellent presentation and written communication skills required.
Proven analytics background, including strong number/financial sense.
Proven ability to lead, collaborate, influence, and drive results/outcomes through others (not directly reporting to this position).
Proven track record with learning on the fly, thinking out of the box, and establishing creative business solutions.
In-depth knowledge of human resources trends, market trends, alternative approaches to HR practices (e.g., organizational development, team facilitation, work/life policy, and compensation).
Demonstrated self-management and a career in encompassing a diversity of experiences.
Strong employee relations background/people relations skills.
Willingness and ability to regularly visit/travel to various business units, be visible among employee groups, serve as a sounding board.

The starting pay range for this position is:
$114,800.00 - $153,100.00Additionally, for full time positions, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
