PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Sr Human Resources Associate provides human resources and payroll support for the Compton manufacturing plant. They will take the initiative to lead and drive HR process improvements to support each department and to engsge employees across the Compton plant. The position will have contact with employees at all levels within the company and will frequesntly interact with company leadership and plant employees.

 

Reports to: Directly to the Human Resources Leader

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Payroll/Kronos

Responsible for weekly payroll completion and administration via Kronos up to and including training and certifying new department payroll admins. Responsible for maintenance of time clocks at the Roofing and Asphalt plants Respond to payroll issues from hourly paid employees Coordinate or assist employees with all payroll changes (tax Changes, direct deposit, garnishments, deductions…etc) Be sole point of contact for Payroll Shared Services and problem ticket entry and resolution Research for annual labor market survey Verification and completion of accurate weekly payroll using Kronos. Utilization of Kronos for attendance and points tracking and updating people leaders on individual points status.

Employee Central

Update employee data as necessary in Employee Central Run routine and non-routine reports Calculate quarlerly incentive plan payout (VIP) and Employee Performance Awards (EPA) as required. Ensure that employee information is filed in compliance with company and governmental regulations. Maintain confidentiality and security of employee information

 

 Employee Files

Coordinate all pre-placement activities as per policy, including drug screen & medical questionnaire Assist with hourly recruitment in Talent Center Lead orientation and onboarding for hourly and salary employees Maintain confidentiality and security of employee information

 

Other Activities

Assist Wellness Committee and community service efforts Facilitate/coordinate plant events Perform as Wellness Champion assisting NLT Pillar Leaders and updating Wellness A3 quarterly. Keep all HR communication boards updated throughout the plant, including mandated postings Coordinate monthly random drug screens and follow up Employee uniform service liaison Take personal ownership to work safely each and everyday Actively engage in the plant's Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) efforts through maintaining 5S standards an area/pillar activities as assigned. Remain actively 100% engaged in all safety initiatives and comply with all plant safety regulations Comply with all plant rules and corporate policies regarding business conduct Regular onsite attendance All other duties as assigned or needed that can be performed safely

 

Job Requirements

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

U.S. citizen OR have valid proof of authorization to work in the U.S. required High School Diploma or GED equivalency Minimum 3 years California HR and Payroll experience (manufacturing environment preferred, but not required) Working knowledge using Kronos (UKG) timekeeping software strongly preferred Experience utilizing HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems Minimum of six (6) months benefits administration experience Strong computer skills with intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and ability to use the internet to locate and retrieve information

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

 

Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive communications and data Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and organizational skills with the ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of constituencies Strong working knowledge of the MS Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Ability to work independently, proactively, and professionally with minimal supervision and guidance. Ability to coordinate multiple activities on a daily basis and possess exceptionally strong skills in attention to detail/accuracy/flexibility Ability to build and establish strong working relationships with employees and leaders all levels.
