A TD Modeling Engineer is part of the Industrial Engineering (IE) team within the Technology Development (TD) organization. The IE Modeling Engineer is responsible for establishment and maintenance of a base manufacturing flow for a given technology node. This role will specifically focus on establishing and maintaining a business process for the TD Development POR (dPOR,) interacting with each TD co-located site to establish a flow that represents the TD wafer corridor and can be used for capacity reservation. In addition to dPOR responsibilities, the modeling engineer will collaborate with the rest of the TPG Modeling team to manage cost and contingency list (CL) planning, ensuring that each Technode reaches its manufacturing cost target. The TD IE Modeling engineer's work product will influence the direction of the TD organization, and the planning for global manufacturing sites preparing for new technology introduction and ramp.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Safety
Finishes the required safety training and conducts all work in accordance with Micron and Technology Development (TD) safety policiesFollows all safety and environmental procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulationsReports all safety-related concerns or problems immediately to the appropriate individual (Emergency Response Team, Supervision, etc.)Performs audits and submits good catches on safety issuesCommunication/Collaboration
Collaborates with TD partners to plan for future product introductionWorks closely with the Process Engineering, Process Integration Engineering, site TD teams and Site Industrial Engineers to establish and manage development POR flows that accurately represent TD development requirements.Partners closely with the Process Development Engineering, Process Integration Engineering and Operations Central Team to keep updated CL and Cost of Transition (CoT) forecasts for new nodes to be introduced to manufacturing sitesMaintains Model of Record (MOR) process flows and communicates updates to stakeholders across the companyCoordinates justification and highlights impacts of TD MOR changes to worldwide manufacturingHighlights impacts of dPOR process flows and collaborates with site IE to understand need for TD-driven capital pull-in and cross-charge.Establishes and coordinates maintenance of XORBP process and delivers contingency list for a given technode.Works closely with TD IE team to discuss changes that impact the business planWrites proposals and documents for reports/projects and to help explain significant impactsPresents information optimally on complex ideas to peers, area leadership or other levels of managementTechnical/Data Analysis
Scrutinizes impacts of dPOR and MOR process flow changes throughout the Technode lifecycleLeads Contingency List business process in collaboration with PDE and PIEvaluates potential capital and/or materials cost impacts of proposed changes in MORCalculates CoT scenarios and partners with TD, OCT, and Finance to understand the impact of the changes to the worldwide manufacturing networkProvides ongoing CoT analysis to track cost goals for ongoing TD part types and helps to identify cost reduction opportunitiesSupports and builds scenarios for new technologies and to support the long-range planning for MicronProject Management
