Our subscription-based platform provides unmatched intelligence and differentiated access to market analytics that power the industry’s forward-thinking ideas. As a CBRE Sr Economist, you'll be required to use your skills in econometrics and applied economics to continuously improve EA’s industrial models. Your work will directly improve EA’s suite of tools used by investors, occupiers, and CBRE transaction professionals as they make decisions or recommendations around managing real estate portfolios. This role can sit in any U.S. City within the vicinity of a CBRE office. What You'll Do: •Monitor and interpret economic, demographic, and real estate indicators that inform CBRE’s macroeconomic outlook scenarios used for industrial modeling/forecasting. •Incorporate CBRE’s macroeconomic scenarios and modeled supply as inputs into EA’s proprietary real estate industrial models to produce preliminary forecasts in collaboration with data engineers. •Work closely with other economists, data scientists, and data engineers on research and development projects and continuous model improvement. •Incorporate sentiment gathered from key internal stakeholders. •Audit industrial forecasting outputs in collaboration with EA leadership and prepare them for publishing. •Author and co-author expert industrial commentary and insightful thought pieces that position CBRE as a leading voice in the industry guiding transformational outcome for investors and occupiers. •Maintain quarterly forecasting workflows, apply regular tests to achieve continuous model improvement, analyze relevant data to make substantial contributions to EA’s quarterly industrial commentary, and be responsive to colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders about current and future industrial market dynamics. •Maintain a backlog of research projects in collaboration with others. •Other duties may be assigned. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style. Ability to make presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, management and/or public groups. Ability to empower and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action. •Ability to solve advanced problems and handle a variety of options in complex situations. •Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company. •Advanced knowledge of computer software (i.e. Microsoft office Suite Products and Stata) and proficient Excel skills. Experience with statistical software such as Stata, e-views, R or Python. •Ability to work well under pressure with multiple deadlines. •Adept programmers in database and statistical software environments. •Solid understanding of economic principles including microeconomics, macroeconomics, consumer theory, market equilibrium, e-commerce, market structure and relationships within the context of the industrial sector and commercial real estate. CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Sr Industrial Economist position is $145,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Sr Industrial Economist position is $164,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
