Sr Integration Engineer - Airborne Systems

The successful candidate for the Senior Airborne Platform Integration Engineer is responsible for providing integration, test, and operations support to a DoD Program Management Office (PMO) responsible for the modernization and sustainment of airborne and tactical communications systems. You will support the planning, acquisition, implementation, and continual service improvement of an Airborne Communications and Systems Platform laboratory ecosystem used to deliver mission critical services. Job Responsibilities: + Work collaboratively with government engineering teams, platform support personnel, industry partners, and end users to implement future system test events for airborne and aircraft hardware, software, and services. + Monitor engineering testing and joint exercise implementation schedules. + Monitor and supervise government furnished equipment (GFE) and vendor loaned engineering hardware, software, and services, and make recommendations regarding tactical and systems requirements in the airborne platform lab environment. + Provide customer with recent and relevant airborne and tactical communications expertise for ground and air integration operations. + Provide the DoD customer and platform ecosystem with expert knowledge and application of all joint integration documents and joint publications. + Review, integrate and supervise the integration of Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK)/Windows Tactical Assault Kit (WINTAK) in the airborne platform ecosystem and mai ntain all software updates with critical government stakeholders. + Attend relevant DoD test events, symposiums, and engineering meetings to ensure critical airborne integration platform capabilities are maintained in the supervised laboratory ecosystem. + Assist critical DoD customers in the planning, training, coordination and execution of functional, strategic and operational joint test exercises in the airborne platform ecosystem. + Provide expertise in the integration of kinetic and non-kinetic fires and implementation and testing of Weapons Data Links (WDL) for signal strength and full integration from radio systems to field computing devices (e.g. handheld computers, tablets and laptops) + Provide resident expertise in supporting, testing, and demonstrating practical application and utilization of remote Video Down Links (VDL) devices, ground communications, and support equipment + Maintain continuous communications with government stakeholders in unmanned aircraft, manned aircraft, and relevant DoD UAS/UAV capabilities to assist in coordinating integration efforts in the platform ecosystem. + Provide the platform ecosystem with expert level operations and knowledge in the development, planning and prioritization of high-valued targets and execution of full spectrum targeting + Provide the airborne test platform with expert knowledge of Joint fires and targeting doctrine, policies, processes, and procedures along with demonstrated experience with the Joint Targeting Cycle + Provide airborne ecosystem stakeholders with expertise on the DoD theater strategic targeting process which includes intelligence support to targeting, collateral damage estimation methodology, sensitive target approval process and related procedures + Support testing and demonstration exercises by providing test and evaluation expertise for manned and unmanned ISR test planning, test executive, range logistics, and post-test analysis and documentation + Support the airborne platform ecosystem in the development of joint, manned, and unmanned ISR employment and training standards, relevant products, analysis, and information. Specifically, provide input of ground end-user requirements for the ISR, Close Air Support, Surface Attack and CSAR mission sets as it pertains to unmanned and manned aircraft systems. Experience/Qualifications: + DoD Top Secret SCI security clearance required. + Minimum of twelve (12) years of combined joint, interagency and regional experience working with unmanned aircraft systems + Military and/or government support operational experience with targeting and fires integration of MQ-1 and MQ-9 aircraft systems and solutions. + Experience with integration and test event coordination for military radios, Link 16, MUOS, and MANET systems and solutions. + Minimum of eight (8) years of verifiable DoD Airborne Systems related experience + Expertise with specific integration of Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (AISR) and Special Operations Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) with manned and unmanned systems. + Proven verbal and written communication skills. + Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. + Ability to handle multiple, complex and competing priorities and projects. + Recent and relevant Special Operations Forces tactical communications support experience and operational understanding on how operators communicate in austere locations + At least two years of prior direct experience in support of Special Operations Forces Acquisition, Technology and Logistics (SOF AT&L) programs for tactical communications integration + Minimum of four years of hands-on experience in ISR collection management + Expertise in combat integration with Processing, Exploitation and Dissemination (PED) and Ground Control Stations (GCS) in deployed military operations Education Requirements: + Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems or related field. + Network Systems, Radio Communications, and Data Links Training preferred.
