THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE: As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the cloud infrastructure at Ulta Beauty. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our cloud environments are scalable, secure, and optimized for performance. Your expertise in cloud technologies, automation, and DevOps practices will be critical in driving our cloud strategy and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our cloud-based systems. YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY: Cloud Infrastructure Management: Deploy, configure, and manage cloud resources on platforms such as Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools for provisioning, monitoring, and managing cloud infrastructure. DevOps Collaboration: Work closely with DevOps teams to integrate cloud solutions with CI/CD pipelines, enabling automated testing, deployment, and scaling. Security and Compliance: Partner with risk and security to implement cloud security best practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Regularly assess and mitigate security risks. Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor cloud environments to ensure performance and availability. Optimize cloud infrastructure for cost-efficiency and performance. Troubleshooting and Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting support for cloud-related issues, working to resolve incidents and minimize downtime. Mentorship and Leadership: Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices in cloud engineering and DevOps. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud infrastructure, processes, and procedures. THE ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or applicable work experience. Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in cloud engineering or a related field, with a strong focus on cloud architecture and infrastructure management. Cloud Certifications: Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Professional Engineer, Azure Solutions Architect) are highly desirable. Skills: Expertise in cloud platforms such as Azure, or GCP. Strong knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell. Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes. Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, Git, and Ansible. Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, and identity management in the cloud. Experience with observability tools such as Datadog and Dynatrace along with cloud specific tooling. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to lead projects and mentor junior engineers. Able to prioritize and execute tasks, while demonstrating poise in a high-pressure environment. Extremely self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail. The pay range for this position is $100,900.00 - $130,000.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs.
