MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management and Information Systems (MIS) or a closely related field. Usually has advanced technical certifications that demonstrate mastery of a specialized applications. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS At least six (6) years of technology experience supporting applications. Advanced certifications and/or greater than six (6) years applicable experience may be substituted for up to two (2) years of the education requirement. LICENSE REQUIREMENTS None PREFERENCES **Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6. ** Preferences will be given to those with the following skill sets: + SQL Server Proficiency: 6 Years of strong knowledge of MS SQL Server, including its architecture, features, and tools. + T-SQL Programming: Proficient in Transact-SQL (T-SQL) for writing queries, stored procedures, and functions. + Database Design: Understanding of data modeling and database design principles, including normalization and indexing strategies. + Performance Tuning: Skills in optimizing query performance and database operations, using tools like SQL Server Profiler and Execution Plans. + Backup and Recovery: Knowledge of backup strategies and disaster recovery planning, including implementing point-in-time recovery. + Security Management: Familiarity with SQL Server security features, including roles, permissions, and auditing. + High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HADR): Experience with solutions such as Always On Availability Groups, replication, and clustering. + Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Ability to monitor database health and performance, and troubleshoot issues effectively. + Scripting and Automation: Proficiency in PowerShell or other scripting languages for automating tasks and managing databases. + Data Migration: Skills in migrating data between environments and different versions of SQL Server. + ETL Processes: Familiarity with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) for data extraction, transformation, and loading. + Reporting and Analysis: Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) or other reporting tools. + Documentation: Strong documentation skills for maintaining records of configurations, processes, and procedures. + Collaboration and Communication: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, network engineers, and management. + Continuous Learning: A willingness to stay updated with the latest SQL Server features and industry trends. + DevOps: Experience working on DevOps. + Data Visualization: Working experience creating dashboards using data visualization tools.
