Job Summary

Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine. Works from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions, may make tool adjustments as necessary. Checks and inspects machining operations against specified tolerances, including maintaining quality and safety standards. May identify and repair minor machine malfunctions.

Maintains organization, cleanliness, and housekeeping within the work area and reports any maintenance issues encounteredHandles new parts from print to finished productVerifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications using various measuring tools such as: CMMs, calipers, micrometers, comparators, and vision systemsReviews blueprints, process drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensional conformance to quality requirements; identifies and corrects discrepancies accordinglyContributes to lean initiatives by identifying and providing suggestions on areas for improvementParticipates in developing advanced manufacturing processes by establishing best practices to ensure the highest quality and output of the machineConfers with engineers, production, quality, programmer personnel, or others to resolve complex machining problemsProvides training and guidance to other team membersAdheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policiesEnsures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your roleRepresents the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third partiesPerforms other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints with GD&TAbility to calculate and set controls to optimize machining parameters such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control dataPossesses advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsCapability of setting up complex CNC machines, and making modifications and/or recommendations to process development teamSets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control dataTypically requires a minimum of 2 - 4 years of related experienceRequires High school diploma or GED
