Responsible for providing strategic and inspirational leadership to a team of ER Managers while they support Field teams, Field HR Directors and Sr. Talent Manager’s on employee relations issues. Analyze case details and facts, maintain objectivity, and collaborate with field management to ensure decisions support company policies, Dollar General values, and federal/state laws and regulations.
Job Details Partner with Employee Relations Managers and/or other DG departments to guide or conduct in-depth investigations on employee relations issues and/or termination, final counseling or demotion disputes. Ensure ER Managers are advising on proper documentation on cases, in particular Dollar General’s zero tolerance policies. Provide guidance to ER Managers and instruct on consistent practices regarding terminations and progressive counseling.Manages team development by assessing department needs, identifying gaps and planning appropriate steps to provide training for departmental requirements. Assist in the training of all new ER Managers to ensure all team members have the tools and training necessary to meet established goals. Measurement of ERMs goals will be used as part of the Sr. Managers measurement of effectivenessConduct all District Manager investigationsRepresent Dollar General in legal proceedings.Analyze trends and provide direction to ER Managers as they communicate trends, provide training and show their footprint to the regions they support.
