Sr Manager, Global Onboarding
**About the Role** Onboarding is a critical moment in a nUber’s experience; it sets the tone for their overall experience of Uber, including helping set expectations, share the culture, and help set them up for success here. In this role, you’ll set the vision and strategy and design the program to onboard nUbers globally. You and your team are accountable for aspects of the pre-hire through first 90 day experience to ensure that all nUbers are connected, prepared, and productive as they start their journey at Uber. You’ll bring Uber values to life in multiple forms including New Hire Orientation, post day-one onboarding plans, and other new-employee touchpoints; and you’ll build the foundations to support each employee to drive business impact at Uber. You’ll partner with leaders cross-functional leaders to help ensure connectivity of nUber experience with manager effectiveness, business/technical onboarding, as well as connect the various operations and internal technology teams to ensure a consistent and tech enabled experience across businesses and regions. **What You'll Do** - Bring a world-class and data-driven vision in how we engage and connect with our employees throughout the onboarding and employee lifecycle process by leveraging modern approaches in our remote/hybrid working environment - Own and optimize the end-to-end onboarding stage of the employee life cycle - including employee activation, orientation, and engagement to enable new joiners to become productive and connected to drive Uber’s business results - Lead a multi-functional team that oversees the entire global onboarding experience, including New Hire Orientation, Uberversity, Values workshops and other new-employee experiences - Define and measure success metrics to ensure strong ROI - Support the Uber-wide implementation of a new digital onboarding solution, leveraging Uber-internal enterprise systems (incl. ServiceNow, Workday). - Partner closely with Business Leaders, Legal & Compliance and our People and Places teams (HR, People Tech, Operations) to reimagine and craft the entire onboarding experience with a focus on new hire engagement, long-term retention, and thoughtful integration of Uber’s mission and values into each touchpoint - Collaborate with the Executive onboarding and development teams to ensure a cohesive strategy for onboarding nUbers at all levels - Collaborate with regional and functional leaders to drive alignment towards a globalized program vision while still meeting regional and functional needs, and influence coordinated cross-functional prioritization of program initiatives. - Clearly define roles, responsibilities and hand-offs amongst the broader team of stakeholders that play a part in employee onboarding, including Recruiters and Hiring Managers, and ensure all partners understand their role - Continuously mentor, develop and grow the onboarding team. Set a high bar for the team to think boldly and creatively then funnel that energy into concrete processes and execution plans - Ensure cross-functional collaboration and partnership in evolving existing support model to address issues quickly and effectively and to ensure a smooth and seamless onboarding experience - Streamline and simplify communications across the entire onboarding lifecycle for all personas and partnering stakeholders (e.g. new hires, managers, operations agents, functional learning teams, etc.) - Influence enhancements of existing pre-boarding onboarding tools and processes; introduce innovation and automation into the onboarding process where possible, anchoring in human-centered design principles. **Basic Qualifications** - 7+ years of total professional experience - 4+ years people management experience **Preferred Qualifications** - Proven experience in a global L&D, HR, Talent, and/or Operations role - An understanding of adult learning theories and experience within a global learning and development role - Ability to interact, influence and partner with senior leaders across multiple functions (Business, Technology, Legal, HR, etc.) - Deep understanding of the employee lifecycle and how to maximize the time from pre-hire through 90 days of a new-hire’s experience - Previous experience leading onboarding for a global company - Previous experience managing multiple stakeholders with increasing influence and responsibility, preferably leading others For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$174,000 per year - USD$193,500 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
