The Senior Manager - Human Resources role will be responsible for driving HR support to designated client groups including but not limited to the US based Global Support Function employees (i.e. Information Technology, Legal) within a matrixed, global organization. We are looking for an experienced HR professional who can effectively resolve complex employee issues, interact/build relationships with employees at all levels and contribute to the overall success of the organization. This position will be based at our US Corporate headquarters in Parsippany, NJ. This is a hybrid opportunity (3 days/week in office).

How you’ll spend your day

Following is a list of some but not all responsibilities and specific tasks that will be assigned to the person in this role:

Works closely with assigned leaders and employees to drive employee engagement, retention, and organizational effectiveness in support of increased business performance. Oversees recruitment activities for assigned employee group while taking proactive steps to ensure talent capabilities and succession planning are in place; Collaborates with Talent Acquisition colleagues accordingly. Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations as appropriate. In partnership with leaders, develops Performance Improvement Plans for employees with substandard performance. Provides employees and management with coaching and counseling, ensuring objectivity and professionalism in dealing with sensitive issues. Establishes partnerships across the HR function (with multiple Global HRBPs, Centers of Expertise and HR Operations) to deliver value added service to leadership and employees. May serve as a project leader for HR and/or business-driven initiatives (i.e. organizational structure changes, cultural change, employee rewards, organizational effectiveness). Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position will be considered.

 

Education/Certification/Experience:

Minimum of 7 years prior Human Resources experience with demonstrated increasing responsibilities in a global organization Requires Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field from an accredited college. Prior experience in the Pharmaceutical industry is a plus.

 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

Experience with HR information systems is preferred. SAP Success Factors preferred. Proven Excel skills in managing databases, performing lookups, setting up pivot tables, and designing charts will be needed. Ability to work both independently and on a team Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and inter-cultural competence Strong Interpersonal and people skills, in particular the ability to build relationships and influence others Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook); advanced Excel skills and strong statistical and strong analytical skills preferred Demonstrated experience in a matrix, high performance work environment and team- oriented culture Strong track record of results achieved through collaboration, influence skills, and organizational and change management skills Demonstrated ability to learn quickly in a collaborative and fast-paced environment Prioritization and multi-tasking a plus Ability to maintain confidentiality

 

Problem Solving:

Proactively works on problems of a simple to moderate scope Seeks out all resources when selecting methods and techniques for obtaining results Acts independently and proactively to recommend and administer methods and procedures for problem resolution
