Sr Manager, Investment Management – Research

NT Asset Management technology team is seeking an experienced and dynamic technology leader to lead the delivery of technology solutions for our Investment Management Research platform.

As a core member of the Investment Management Technology Practice, you will lead the team on various initiatives to deliver technology solutions that enables our Investment Management research across asset classes.

As a senior leader, you will work across technology and business teams maximizing performance levels, agility and effectiveness through high degree of decision making, communication, empathetic leadership, talent management and mentoring.  

You will bring technical skills and solutioning experience including how of build vs buy 3rd party solutions in Investment Research domain.

Major Responsibilities

Focused on delivering exceptional solutions and solving business challenges across the Investment Management Research domain. The candidate will also focus on improving communications and overall engagement, strong and long term relationships  with business partners on a day-to-day basis and building long-term relationships between business partners and technology stakeholders that foster trust and transparency.Collaborate with business product owners and quantitative teams to understand help drive technology solutions to meet research needs across asset classes and  Products like Equities, FI, Multi Assets, Alternative and ESG etc.Deeply understand the goals and business context of ongoing quant research and investment strategies and provide strategic direction to develop the technology roadmap aligned with the business vision.Lead development of code libraries and solutions that leverage and appropriately augment existing structures to meet the needs of the research-driven investment and analysis processes, often in the absence of clearly documented specifications.Lead and work with developers to identify which interim solutions (e.g., tools, applications, reports, data structures, etc.) have matured sufficiently to transition to a production environment, and produce specifications for such solutions, enabling IT to elevate strategically targeted prototypes to production. Aligns technology strategy with business-based decisions and fosters consensus at all levels of the organization to ensure the achievement of business objectives.Collaborate with Architecture and Data teams to create roadmaps that enable business growth and the future state of the business.Plan, evaluate and hire great talent.  Set the performance standards and provide mentoring and training to develop and grow direct reports. Ensures compliance with all audit, security and risk management requirements.Invests significant efforts to keep self-updated with fintech emerging products/technology capabilities to integrate as off the shelf products to find optimum solutions and be able to advise build vs buy options.Should be able to work in a fluid and dynamic environment, and understand how to effectively communicate complex concepts that can be understood by senior leaders.Leverage program management skills to ensure in timely and under budget delivery of tech initiatives/programs.Partnering with Product owners and Quants to help implement models to inform the investment decision making process

EducationA Bachelor’s degree in Computer, analytical and/or business field of study required; Master’s degree a plus.Professional Qualifications15+ yrs experience leading complex programs / projects within front office - with particular exposure and subject matter expertise with Investment Research domain.Strong domain skills –Quantitative Research, Risk, Equity Portfolio Management etc.Works in many technologies and architectures and adapts fast to new technologiesAdept with multiple parts of the software lifecycle (e.g., coding, testing, development)Stays abreast of industry trends and technologies and knows when/how/if to apply them appropriatelyProficiency with Agile (Scrum/SAfe) and Waterfall delivery methodologies.A background in conducting team gatherings, distributing action points and responsibilities, and overseeing the comprehensive progress of projects, with strong experience using Jira and ConfluenceAbility to synthesize and analyze relevant data to make informed recommendations and influence business outcomes.Track record of hiring, developing, and engaging a diverse and high-performing teams and managing performance by driving a culture of accountability.Experience with range of technologies including database experience working with vast amounts of data, building and integrating API’s into platforms, Micro services architecture, Client facing application development, Java, J2EE
