Pratt & Whitney’s Commercial Engines Geared Turbo Fan (GTF) Aftermarket Business is responsible for commercial maintenance agreements covering jet engines across the Pratt & Whitney Commercial Engines portfolio. The GTF Maintenance Cost Group (“MCG”), in the GTF Global Network and Cost Management Organization, develops and maintains shop visit forecasting models that:

Determine the financial impact of maintenance agreements for new sales and existing engine maintenance contracts.

Provide senior management with strategic guidance to improve returns for the GTF Program.

MCG’s main tool, the Interval Cost Estimator (“ICE”) is a Monte Carlo simulation of engine operation and maintenance.  MCG is looking for a Senior Manager – Maintenance Cost Modeling who will focus on advancing MCG’s maintenance cost forecasting models. The selected candidate will work with both the current ICE3 and future ICE NextGen simulation models/platforms.

What You Will Do:

Co-lead ICE NextGen model development and integration with the ICE NextGen Ecosystem.

Maintaining and developing the ICE 3.0 Maintenance Cost Simulation model.

Improving forecast accuracy and process efficiency for ICE3.0 and ICE NextGen maintenance cost forecasting processes.

Educating forecast model users on model logic/inputs and troubleshoot issues they are not able to resolve.

Educating forecast customers and senior management on modeling concepts, input assumptions, complexity, and the correct interpretation of results.

Extracting, curating, and analyzing actuals data to calibrate forecasting models.

Teaming with business groups such as Finance, Engineering, Aftermarket, and Engine Program Management to identify understand and model emerging aftermarket issues.

Liaising with technical organizations such as Engineering, Powerplant Engineering and Fleet Management to identify maintenance cost risk and opportunity.

What You Will Learn:

To apply your modeling/discrete event simulation skills to jet engine maintenance and management

To communicate with various technical disciplines within jet engine maintenance and management organizations

To apply your modeling and simulation skills to model complex business specific behaviors

To analyze actuals invoice data to calibrate model pricing and behavior.

Qualifications You Must Have: 

Bachelor’s degree in STEM field of study and 10 years of experience to include analytical problem solving, general purpose programing language and knowledge of SQL or 7 years of experience to include analytical problem solving, general purpose programing language and knowledge of SQL with an advanced degree in STEM field.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills 

Competence in statistical analysis and modeling techniques, particularly in Discrete Event Monte Carlo simulations.

Experience in data analysis and engaging expert knowledge to calibrate model logic and inputs to operational, price, cost, and maintenance actuals.

General knowledge of jet engine performance, hot section reliability, rating structures, and familiarity with Life Limited Parts.

Communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences in various business disciplines across all levels of management. 

Experience managing multiple tasks, lead/own projects, motivate others to share goals and visions.

Skills relevant to discrete event simulation development and management.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
