Job DescriptionThe purpose of this job is to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Procurement retail merchandising and food category management team to provide product and services sourcing for Pilot’s Retail Merchandising and Food teams based in Knoxville, TN.
Oversee, lead, and set priorities for the Procurement team membersSelect, coach, train, and develop direct reports to include appraising job performance and conducting performance reviews. Coach and mentor team member procurement fundamentalsSupport development and management of a Pilot Procurement Center of Excellence to create an enterprise operating model to govern consistent processes and guide all sourcing decisions at PilotManage yearly strategic planning and conduct quarterly reviews with key Pilot retail merchandising and food groups and related Pilot strategic vendors to ensure Pilot resources and vendors are aligned on contracting initiativesBuild consensus and drive alignment amongst key stakeholders including Pilot retail merchandising and deli food leaders and legal in support of Procurement initiatives and programs (sourcing, implementation, compliance)Lead key sourcing events and manage supplier relationships across retail merchandising and deli food categories, acting as subject matter expert for contracts which includes knowledge of market capabilities, economic cost drivers, supplier financials and market competitionDevelop, prioritize, and manage cost savings through productivity and continuous improvement initiatives within area of responsibilityPresent data and reports to senior leadershipEstablish, regulate, revise and document policies, procedures, and workflow for assigned areas responsibilityModel behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest levelEnsure all activities comply with rules, regulations, policies, and proceduresComplete other duties as assigned#LI-CR1
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business or related field and 6+ years of relevant experienceSignificant experience in procurement for both retail and food industries, with a strong understanding of the specific challenges and dynamics of eachStrong background in developing sourcing strategies for diverse product lines and experience working with both national and regional suppliers in both retail and foodProven expertise in managing large-scale procurement projects, contracts and vendor relationships within the retail merchandising and food sectorsMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorshipAdditional Information
