Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This will be a key role in our company-wide program office that supports the expansion of our shared services offerings to Thermo Fisher businesses. The Snr Project Manager, GBS Enablement will lead the execution of transitions, migrations, business integrations, process improvements, change and transformation programs of Technical/IT nature. The Project Manager will also be leading all aspects of project portfolios and ensure successful delivery of portfolio goals.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:Leads cross-functional, geographically distributed project teams, to achieve desired outcomesChampions collaboration across horizontal workstreams and geographies, seniority levels effectively leading diverse teams, owns interdependenciesInfluences key customers to ensure timely and quality program implementation across workstreams and businessesDevelops relationships within the company to complete assigned projects through effective communication with key partnersDrives breakthrough thinking by integrating diverse views, promoting innovative and collaborative problem-solving approaches through driving feasibility studies, targeted content deep dive sessions in order to translate customer requirements into the future stateDefines and maintaining scope of work, goals, budget, headcount requirements and key landmarks with full scale project plan, defines project resource requirements and allocationOwns periodic project plan assessments a to ensure readiness and quality of the projectsAssumes overall responsibility of complex projects regardless scope (business transformations, automations, system implementations, migrations, transitions, process reengineering, etc),Drives project requirements, deliverables and progress throughout the project’s lifecycle with Business, Operational teams, IT and any other functions.Employs fit-for-purpose methodologies and using appropriate strategies to achieve project scope in a timely manner, with quality and within budgetResponsible for identifying and handling interdependencies, risks, issues, actions, facilitate decision-making related to complexities through applying effective risk management strategiesOwns critical path processes aiming to find mitigation strategies, removes barriers of execution.Ownership of project status, communicate to senior customersOwns clear communication of project outcomes (risks, issues, actions, and decisions), lead Steering Committee discussionsIs responsible for complex portfolio of projects, manages project changes and interventions to keep the portfolio on track, acts as single source of truth for the overall health and savings pipelineBuilds a strong team of highly skilled and motivated peopleCreates a culture of excellence in line with our Thermo Fisher Value

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree required, preferably business relatedProject Management certification highly desirable (PMP, Prince2, Agile, etc)Experience in Agile project management is highly desirable10+ years of solid experience managing complex, global programs and project initiativesExperience in Finance operations (OTC, PTP, FA, Inventory), Customer Service and/or Procurement is a mustGBS experience is highly desirableProven track record of managing complex, multi-year programs with IT and technical natureProficiency in English (verbal and written)
