Job Description

This opportunity is part of the US Technology Solution Readiness team where our mission is to deliver limitless technology solutions that make our Guest experience convenient and delightful, and enable Crew, Managers, and Owner Operators to Run Great Restaurants! Our technology powers all 13,000+ US restaurants and enables restaurant teams to serve millions of customers daily!

The Senior Manager Solution Readiness is responsible for managing product life cycle, market strategy, road map, feature prioritization, requirements, development, and market adoption for our in-restaurant/drive-thru payment technology, digital/mobile payment technology, and menu management systems. Working with our restaurant and digital product architects, custom application development team, and third-party vendors the Sr. Mgr. Solution Readiness will be expected to identify opportunities to optimize systems, improve resiliency and reliability, adopt industry best practices, simplify upgrade processes, and standardize integrations with 3rd party systems. To be successful the Sr. Mgr. Solution Readiness must develop strong partnerships with global product owners, development teams, deployment and support teams, third party vendors and service providers, and business stakeholders to drive desired outcomes.

The Sr. Mgr. Solution Readiness is also a people leader for solution readiness managers and business technical analysts and is the owner of implementation decisions for the products. The ideal candidate will be results and measurement driven, an exceptional communicator, and exhibit teamwork and influencing skills that foster a collaborative and continuous improvement environment. The successful candidate will also be recognized for his/her ability to attract and develop top talent for the leadership pipeline.

Key stakeholders include US Owner Operators, Operations Technology Professionals (“OTPs”), internal business areas such as Operations, Global Technology, Legal, Treasury, and many others. Close partnership and active management of strategic technology vendors is critical to success.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

Own Drive-thru and In-restaurant payment device strategy. Collaborate with payment device providers, payment processors, US and Global Technology and US Operations to ensure the best payment experience for in-store and drive-thru customers.As a recognized payments technology leader, present best-bets, and guidance to operations technology personnel at conferences and field office meetings.Partner with Deployment, Support, Vendor Management, and payment device providers to ensure a consistent supply of working devices for McDonald’s US restaurants.Ensure all US payment devices are kept up to date with the latest software releases and remain compliant with all PCI and regulatory standards.Collaborate with Payment Providers, Global Technology and Global Treasury to enhance payment experiences in the McDonald’s Mobile App.Lead delivery of timely, high-quality, effective features/enhancements/builds for payment and menu systemsLead demos and showcase new features to critical stakeholdersBuilding out, maintaining, and prioritizing/grooming user stories, roadmaps, and aligning across US and Global stakeholdersLeading development squads/vendor teams in evolution and testing of new features and capabilitiesManaging both employees and vendor partners to successful, collaborative outcomesPartnering with deployment and support teams to ensure successful product launches as well as ensuring adoption of Global Technology engineering capabilitiesEnsure alignment of product roadmaps with US strategy and, where applicable, Global Technology Product roadmaps and vendor roadmapsUnderstand and anticipate operations, crew, customer, and business needsWork closely with peer solution readiness managers and product owners across all channels and capabilities to prioritize initiatives, identify opportunities for teamwork, and coordinate product development and deliveryGuide quality testing and Pilot testing for new product releases and featuresProvide people leadership for team members, professional development, and career pathing

The expected salary range for this role is $149,260-$190,310

Qualifications5+ years of relevant professional work experience in technology, payments, or financial services related field3+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager or Product Manager eliciting/defining requirements, designing systems solutions, and managing business and technical requirements1+ years of experience with agile development methodologiesExperience developing solutions that provide high levels of resilience and scaleProactive, self-motivated, and accountable team playerExperience partnering with team members in a large global matrix org structureSolid understanding of the software development life cycle, agile methodologies, and well versed in project management best practicesExperience leading technical priorities and driving strategic architectural initiativesStrong communication skills with ability to communicate complex technical concepts and align organization on decisions with stakeholders of all levels of expertiseActive coach and mentor whose goal is to grow and improve team members’ potentialExperience working in McDonald's restaurants, equivalent QSRs, or retail companyDesire to work in a fast-paced, often changing, and sometimes ambiguous environmentAbility to balance multiple priorities successfullyBachelors Degree in a technical discipline is highly desired
