Sr Manager, Strategy and Innovation

Apollo’s retirement business, Athene, provides a suite of retirement savings products and is the market leader in annuity sales in the US. Athene’s Strategy & Innovation team is responsible for driving strategic growth and innovation for the company. This team works to identify, incubate, and launch businesses that will support continued market leadership, and to embrace new technologies to continually improve the operating effectiveness and efficiency of the existing business. The team works at the intersection of Apollo and Athene and leverages capabilities from across the combined firm to drive industry leading innovation and performance. The team is currently executing on a set of strategic growth opportunities and moving those forward from strategy to execution. Additionally, the team maintains an active pipeline of additional opportunities, with continuous ideation, development, prioritization, and decision-making to move opportunities forward in alignment with growth objectives. The Strategy & Innovation Senior Manager will be responsible for supporting in-flight growth initiatives and partnering cross-functionally to explore new opportunities. Accountabilities: + Opportunity Identification: Conduct market and product research and competitive analysis to support strategy, innovation and partnership conversations + Business Design: Support the development of business plans, including financial models, go-to-market strategies, and operational frameworks + Business Development: Support the team in pursuing partnership opportunities including implementation + Project Management for Performance Management: Support project management efforts for incubated businesses including tracking progress and facilitating governance efforts + Strategy: Facilitate yearly strategy workshops for business line leadership + Culture and Talent Development: Contribute to a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion, collaboration, and innovation Qualifications and Experience: + Bachelor’s Degree and 4+ years of experience in a highly selective and rigorous analyst program in strategy consultancies (e.g., MBB) or investment banking + Experience and interest in financial services and a willingness to learn about retirement services + Advanced knowledge of Excel and Power Point are required + Attention to detail and ability to independently create and deliver high quality materials to senior executives + Highly motivated with exceptional analytical thinking and problem-solving skills + Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a rigorous, fast-paced, demanding and rapidly changing environment, engaging stakeholders with different roles and expertise + Highly professional with experience balancing multiple priorities and tight deadlines + Embraces a culture centered on teamwork and is flexible with job responsibilities + Bachelor’s degree from a top undergraduate institution $141,880.80 - $212,821.20 USD Annual Annual Salary for this role is market competitive. Actual salary for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
