Position Summary

The Global Verticals Strategy & Operations organization plays an instrumental role in accelerating growth and scale across this portfolio. The team sits at the center of the organization and ensures cross-functional operational excellence as well as shaping the strategy in support of the Global Verticals leadership.

Members of the team have a dual mentality: both that of a strategic leader—who has a deep understanding of the dynamics of two-sided marketplaces, can break down tough problems into clear frameworks, operate in ambiguity, and possesses strong data intuition and executive-ready communications—as well as someone who can move quickly and decisively as an embedded operator not afraid to roll up their sleeves.

We are looking to hire a Senior Manager for Planning & Business Operations focused on our Electronics and Home & Garden verticals.  This person will report to the Director of Planning & Business Operations for Global Verticals.

Role is best suited for someone based in New York, NY to optimize overlap in working hours between leaders on the West Coast and in Europe.

What you’ll do:

Steward the annual planning process for your vertical, partnering with Electronics and Home & Garden leadership globally to bring their strategies to life, while helping to identify scale opportunities across Global VerticalsDrive rigor from planning through execution, collaborating across a broad cross-functional team (product, marketing, analytics, finance, business development, pricing, and others) to formalize processes and unblock barriers to deliveryLead ongoing business cadences (e.g., business performance reviews, initiative deep dives) to optimally track progress against plansSupport creation of executive presentation materials for global verticals leadership up through the c-suiteServe as a strategic thought partner to the Electronics and Home & Garden leadership teamIdentify, design and execute on process improvements focused on creating a more effective and efficient Global Verticals organization and as the Strategy & Operations team scales, contribute to end-to-end solution development behind select strategic programs

Who you are:

Exceptional executive-level communicator (verbal and written)Understands all the pieces of a complex global business (key drivers), can synthesize those pieces into a unified narrative, and then highlight “what really matters” to leaders for effective decision makingWill take the lead in maintaining operating discipline and driving excellence in how we run the businessCan be autonomous and self-reliant, while also serving as a cross-functional leader who is also recognized as a collaborator and partnerTakes a data-driven approach to planning and decision making.Organized problem solver who balances attention to detail with efficiencyAmbition to grow professionally and willingness to work hard, learn/adapt, and provide feedback both upward and to peer teams

Qualifications:

8+ years of related experience, including 2+ years at a top-tier management consulting firm or investment bank, and 2+ years in a strategic planning and/or business operations role at a major corporationIndustry experience in consumer goods, retail, e-commerce, or consumer techBA/BS required, MBA or similar graduate degree preferredInterest in sustainability and recommerce a plus, but not required

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

$126,800 - $187,550

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
