We are looking for an experienced, collaborative, and adaptable product design lead (people leader) who is passionate about understanding user needs to join the Experience Design (XD) team. The XD Team crafts effortless mobile, web and desktop experiences that are grounded in empathy and informed by insights and thoughtful planning. We are a multi-disciplinary group of professionals with expertise in Design, Content Strategy, and Research. We collaborate across the enterprise to build exceptional digital experiences for millions of clients. In this role, the design lead will: 

Experience DesignCo-create solutions together with a cross-functional Agile team, considering how digital, physical, and service channels work togetherTackle system-level questions with opportunities in design, architecture or standardsIntroduce ideation methods, user research, and techniques to planning and discovery processesLead cross-functional teams in using data to define the right problem to solveWork with partners to build and define metrics that show experience impactLead reviews and drive decision-making with the understanding Resolve internal roadblocks within XD team and resolve broader roadblocks collaboratively with cross-functional teamsTeam leadershipLead and mentor across XD disciplines in solving problems to create seamless experiences across product areasWork with teams to estimate project completion based on task completion estimates resource availabilityDefine XD roadmaps across product areasAct as a role model and share feedback on use of collaborative techniquesProduct design and executionBring products to life through collaboration across the enterprise, designing solutions that delight and satisfy our clients and meet business needsInfluence and lead product design efforts from early discovery to final delivery, with an emphasis on selecting the best approach and XD methods to define potential solutionsDefine visual design approach for products, including how aspects like layout, color, spacing and typography impact how the user will interact with the system and how the system should respondWork within and contribute to a design system with full understanding of the overarching structure and implementation methods for patterns and componentsUnderstand that the tiniest detail can make all the difference in designing a great product, with focused attention on meeting product requirements, providing consistent and error-free experiences aligned to brand identity, and ensuring every aspect of the design is accessible and inclusive Talent managementManage across XD disciplines, with a dual focus on furthering the XD team and growing individual team membersManage XD teams within a program/portfolio managing relationships and resource capacitySet clear expectations for individuals, provide feedback, and address performance issuesDevelop and support individual growth plans to capitalize on employee talentsWhy your work matters:Support an engaged set of users who rely on our products to manage the financial well-being of their clients and their own businessesBalance functionality against complexity on an industry-leading platform which serves thousands of investment advisorsLead an engaged design team that values delivering value and fostering growth What you have

Required Qualifications

11+ years of digital product design experience5+ years of people leadership experienceDocumented experience designing highly complex B2B productsAn online portfolio showing process and outcomesExpert in all facets of XD, including practice, process, tools, and techniquesExperience working in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team within an iterative process and an Agile development methodologyExperience planning and conducting user research, inclusive of diverse research methodologiesStrong self-management skills, comfortable with substantial responsibility, ability to work directly with product and engineering partners, and capable of managing project schedulesProficient in Figma

Preferred Qualifications
