Customer SolutionsAs part of BMO’s North American Retail & Small Business Payments department, the Partnerships team manages a number of existing major partnerships (AIR MILES, Shell, MasterCard, Affinity partnerships) and also has the mandate to develop and grow new partnerships that are aligned with our strategic vision and add value to the BMO cardholder experience.
The Sr Manager – New Partnership Development is accountable for strategic oversight, planning and coordination of payments partnerships for BMO in the Canadian market, as well as being part of the project team to launch new products and partnerships into the market. In this role, the incumbent will: (1) target, develop and negotiate new partnerships that are aligned with BMOs objectives in the payments space, (2) act as thought leader for how to integrate BMO’s various partnerships into BMO’s credit card and loyalty strategy, and (3) lead implementation and integration projects.
Accountabilities:

Develop a strategic, competitive and financial framework in which to assess the value, complexity and strategic alignment of various partnerships in both the Retail and Small Business cards portfoliosReview, assess and optimize the economics and incremental value added by various partnersProvide recommendations on short and long term options and socialize them with senior leadersSupport the tracking of expected benefits due to projects delivered by the teamNegotiating with the partners and owning the entire business development / sales cycle, will own the creation of pitch documents etc.Responsible for driving business growth within BMO. Develop a network of contacts to attract new clients, research new market opportunities and oversee growth projects, making sales projections and forecasting revenue, in line with projected income.Act as thought leader for how to integrate BMO’s various partnerships into BMO’s credit card and loyalty strategy

Effectively manage all contractual and supplier management requirements for new partnersLiaise with other lines of business including other areas of the payments team (Acquisition, Small Business, Customer Engagement) and more broadly across the bank (Segments, other product groups_Manage risk related to the portfolio and ensure compliance with all laws, rules and BMO policiesQualifications:
Knowledge
Minimum undergraduate university degree, an MBA or other post-graduate degree, or equivalent industry related experience preferred3+ years credit card product management experience2+ years partner relationship management experienceManagement consulting or Strategy experience preferredStrong track record delivering results in ambiguous and challenging situationsP&L management experience preferredData fluency is an assetSkills

SalariedThe above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.
Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
