Sr Manager/Associate Director, Direct Market Sales - (Open to remote)

Penguin Random House (PRH) is looking for a Senior Manager/Associate Director to join the Direct Market Sales team!  

 

The PRH Direct Market Sales team is seeking a Senior Manager/Associate Director responsible for maximizing sales growth and managing a sales team. This position will oversee a team that sells all PRH and Penguin Random House Publisher Services (PRHPS) Client lists to comic accounts across the country. This highly visible and fast-paced role will be responsible for selling directly to key accounts, steering our Direct Market Partnership Program, and working closely with the team to execute on the sales growth strategy. The ideal candidate has a proactive mindset, exceptional communication and presentation skills, strong sales analysis skills, and a passion for comics. 

 

Specific responsibilities include: 

 

Act as main point of contact for select key accounts  Boost sales growth within the established account base, partnering with sales representatives and Director to create robust plans for seasonal lists that drive strong sell-in, as well as robust programming to encourage effective sell-thru for Direct Market accounts  Proactively seek and develop new account opportunities   Analyze sales, report trends, and implement campaigns and promotions to bolster growth in the Direct Market  Communicate account activity and performance to the sales team, publishers, and other internal stakeholders  Attend account calls, publisher meetings, and trade shows  Associate Director level would also manage sales team and marketing management as well as provide feedback on titles to publishers and respond to publisher priorities  Associate Director level would foster sales representatives’ account development strategies and sales reporting  

 

 Please apply if you meet the following minimum requirements: 

 

Minimum of 7 years sales leadership experience for Associate Director, minimum 7 years sales experience for Senior Manager  Sales experience in and passion for comics, graphic novels, East Asian comics, and pop culture and understanding of publishing functions.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and thrive in a busy working environment.  Ability to effectively interact with colleagues across all levels of an organization.  Ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines.   Strong analytical skills including the ability to run reports, analyze data, and communicate key findings/opportunities.   Curious, proactive and able to problem solve and adapt within an ever-shifting marketplace   Results-oriented, motivated, resourceful, and able to work independently as part of a team.  Ability to travel via plane, train, and/or car to account meetings up to 20% of the time. 

 

The salary range for the Sr. Manager position is $79,500 - $82,000 and the salary range for the Associate Director level is $82,000 - $92,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to company results.
