The Corporate & Government Affairs Senior Manager is responsible for designing and executing communications and government/ corporate engagement strategies that will help support the BMS growth and priorities in Colombia & Peru. He/she is a seasoned Corporate Affairs leader, with strong strategic and creative ability to lead a function, which is critical to the success of our business.

The CGA Lead will be a member of the Colombia´s Leadership Team (LT), He/she will report to the Colombia General Manager, working in close collaboration with the México, Colombia & Perú PR Director.

This position requires international and domestic travel (up to 15%).

Main responsibilities:

Drive the Corporate & Government Affairs strategy for BMS Colombia & PeruDesign and execute a robust strategy for BMS Colombia, to support the company´s vision of becoming a leading biopharma company that transforms patients ‘lives through science.In tight collaboration with the Access Team, drive a robust Government Affairs strategy, to identify key national and provincial government stakeholders to partner with., Design an integrated communication and messaging approach for government stakeholders that support BMS business needs.  Develop a tailored outreach and engagement plan on both a national and regional level.Support initiatives to Partner with policymakers, patient advocates, academics and other stakeholders in support of evidence-based policy shaping programs. Explore potential public- private partnerships with key government and non-governmental institutions on priority health areas in Colombia & Peru.Lead engagement strategy with trade associations both in pharma industry forums as well as cross industry organizations (such as AFIDRO, CEA, ANDI)Align strategy to overall objectives of BMS Colombia & Peru, in continuous cooperation with different functions, and alignment with GM.

Advocacy engagement:Drive Advocacy strategy for the markets, to execute strategic partnership with Patient Groups according to BMS principles.Facilitate the inclusion of the patient and caregiver voice among cross-functional projects (e.g.  access, medical affairs, employee engagement).

Brand communications & reputation managementWork with the LATAM and WW Corporate Affairs and local leadership team to develop and execute the communications strategy including media relations, brand & corporate and digital communications in support of the product portfolio and business objectivesProactively drive initiatives which contribute to building a strong reputation for BMS aligned with global and regional objectives.Anticipate and prepare for stakeholder reactions to corporate, brand and regulatory milestones, and deliver appropriate communications strategy to maximize communications opportunities while mitigating risks. Own the Crisis Playbook and ensure adequate trainings.Design and lead select BMS market shaping campaigns for brands and pipeline innovation in Colombia & Peru, in the field of cardiovascular health, immunology, oncology or hematology.

Executive communications and employee engagement:Develop a strategic executive communications plan to support GMs and partner with HR in execution of the employee engagement and change initiatives as needed.Provide strategic direction to the internal communications of BMS Colombia & Peru.

Education, Qualifications and Skills:

Degree in policy, communication or related careers.10+ years of related experience in positions of responsibility. Pharmaceutical sector experience desirable but not mandatory.Strong network of contacts amongst media in Colombia & Peru.Good understanding of the political environment in Colombia & Peru and ability to interpret how the external changes can impact BMS and its reputation.Experience in working for large global organization, and strong ability to collaborate across the matrix with access, regulatory, medical and legal teams across the worldExcellent ability to partner with business stakeholders, experience in working with senior executives and being part of the leadership teamAbility to work under pressure in a fast changing environment and handle multiple projects at the same timeStrong leadership and influencing skills as well as pose and composure in dealing with demanding or adversarial groupsCommitment to a highly-ethical organizationFluent in Spanish and English
