About the Role:

 

Reporting to the Global L&D Director, the Senior L&D Manager will partner closely with HR and business leaders to create, design, and implement impactful learning initiatives that bridge skills gaps needed to drive future growth. Formulates, designs and implements programs to support global talent management objectives and accelerate capability throughout the organization.  

 

In this role, the Senior Manager will lead multiple high-impact L&D projects with a global scope and long-range organizational impact. Delivers/facilitates both in-person and virtual training sessions, develops engaging communication strategies to drive program adoption and compliance, while tracking, measuring, and reporting on program effectiveness to ensure continuous improvement.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Contribute to Learning Strategy and Alignment Partner with business executives and senior leaders to understand, anticipate, and shape organizational learning needs. Drive the alignment of learning and development initiatives with global business and talent management strategies. Serve as the primary learning contact for the Americas, ensuring regional needs are integrated into global plans. Manage and Oversee Global Learning Portfolio Lead a portfolio of global learning projects, ensuring they align with broader business and talent objectives. Establish and monitor project goals, deliverables, and timelines, ensuring high-impact, measurable outcomes that support organizational growth and development. Lead Curriculum Design and Learning Operations Oversee the design, evolution, and delivery of programs, ensuring they foster progressive, cumulative skill-building. Manage learning standards, operations, and the selection of technologies, including synchronous and asynchronous eLearning. Drive program visibility, engagement, and success by setting clear metrics and evaluating effectiveness. External Vendor and Internal Trainer Management Select, negotiate with, and manage external vendors to supplement internal capabilities. Own and implement a "Train the Trainer" approach to build and sustain a strong internal network of qualified trainers. Provide guidance and indirect mentorship to global L&D professionals, supporting their development and enhancing overall team capabilities. Drive Functional Learning Integration Collaborate with the Global Learning Director to integrate functional learning initiatives, ensuring they complement and reinforce global learning strategies. Facilitate knowledge sharing and alignment across functions. Lead Global Learning Network Coordinate a global network of McCormick L&D and HR professionals to share best practices, align on strategy, and collaborate on initiatives. Act as a central figure in the Global Learning Network, fostering cross-regional collaboration and consistency in learning practices. Budget Management and Process Ownership Act as the process owner for budgeting, forecasting, and financial control. Ensure efficient use of resources and alignment with strategic priorities, while maintaining transparency and accountability in budget oversight. 

Key Qualifications:

 

Educational Background Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Systems Design, Organizational Development, Psychology, Business, Education, or a related field. Familiarity with Learning Experience Platform (LXP) eg. Degreed is a strong asset. Experience in Learning & Development 5+ years of progressive experience in learning and development or organizational development, with at least 3 years in a leading role overseeing project teams and/or training resources. Proven track record in managing complex, high-impact projects with a global scope, including experience in strategic planning and building global partnerships. Consulting and Influencing Skills Demonstrated expertise in consulting, negotiation, presentation, and customer service. Skilled at influencing stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership, without formal authority, to drive initiatives forward and ensure alignment with organizational goals. Relationship Building and Strategic Partnerships Proven ability to build and sustain strong relationships with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders, including academic institutions, industry consortiums, workforce development boards, and other professional networks. Experience leveraging these partnerships to drive innovative learning solutions. Coaching and Mentorship Adept at coaching team members to enhance performance and providing mentorship for career development, fostering a culture of growth, engagement, and continuous improvement within the team. Global Mindset and Cross-Cultural Effectiveness Skilled at navigating cross-cultural environments, with a strong understanding of diverse learning needs across global audiences. Demonstrated success in adapting solutions and communication styles to meet the unique needs of global stakeholders and multicultural teams.

Base Salary: $100,870 - $176,480


Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan.
