All while understanding that **together** we are even better. **Schedule:** Full-Time, Monday through Friday, Based in Orlando, no travel. **Shift** : Days salary exempt role **Location** : Adventhealth Orlando Campus 601 EAST ROLLINS STREET, Orlando, 32803 **The community you’ll be caring for:** + Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,368-bed AdventHealth Orlando. + Serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America. + AdventHealth Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country. + We are already one of the busiest hospitals in the nation, providing service excellence to more than 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients each year. **The role you’ll contribute:** The Senior Department Manager Sterile Processing is responsible for personnel, financial and operational activities for Sterile Processing Depatments in campuses that have multiple departments. This role is accountable for the implementation of standardized services, policy and procedure compliance and the overall safe management and delivery of instrumentation and equipment to clinical departments within the campus. Provides support and guidance to Department Superviors to improve quality across multiple SPD departments within a single campus. Responsible for staffing standards, resource needs, and compliance with clinical and regulatory standards. Plans, organizes and manages all activities involved in the acquisition, decontamination, storage, sterilization and issuance of surgical and other related supplies, materials and equipment utilized in providing patient care. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. **The value you’ll bring to the team:** + Provides supervision, oversight and guidance to all sterile processing departments within the assigned AdventHealth campus. Collaborates with campus sterile processing leaders and Surgery Leadership to ensure safe and adequate staffing patterns to complete sterile processing work according to guidelines. + Rounds in all sterile processing departments within the campus on a regular basis to ensure adherence to standards and to assess environment and process work flow. + Serve on intra- and inter-departmental committees related to sterile processing and infection prevention. + Maintain sterilization, safety and security standards, policies and procedures for Sterile Processing to ensure compliance with AAMI, AORN, OSHA, CDC, EPA, FDA, Regulatory bodies, and state and local regulations. + Collaborates with Surgery leadership to ensure immediate use steam sterilization (IUSS) rates remain at or below 1%. Makes recommendations for instrument purchases to manage use of IUSS. Qualifications **The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:** + Bachelor’s degree in health care administration, business, or nursing or related field + 5 years proven sterile processing leadership experience in a hospital setting. + Central Service Tech Certification from HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
