(NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a Senior Design Engineer at its Bethlehem, PA facility. We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer within our Gardner Engineering team located at Bethlehem, PA.

Reimagine What’s Possible  

Required Skills / Abilities:
 

Mechanical design and analysis of very low temperature systemsThermal and structural design components of cryogenic systemsTesting and approval of cryogenic componentsDesign and analysis of composite componentsManufacturing support of cryogenic systemsFailure analysis of cryogenic systems3 to 7 years of Pressure vessel design and analysisCryogenic Piping Design and analysisDevelop and test/purchase specifications

 
Education Requirements: 

BS Mechanical Engineering and MS in Mechanical engineering with graduate courses in design, mechanics, fluid mechanics and heat transferExcellent physical understanding of analytical methods and resultsAbility to analyze and design mechanical productsExperience with ASME Section VIII Div 1, Div 2, and/or Section XII codesExperience with ASME B31.3 Piping CodeCryogenic design experience a plusSelf-motivated, hands on type of personalityFlexibility in handling challenging multi-tasking workloadSoftware skills with proficiency in modeling in finite element analysis codesAbility to design for manufactureAbility to work with cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams
