The Sr Mechanical Engineer: Directs and coordinates fabrication, installation, operation, application, maintenance and repair of mechanical or electromechanical machines, equipment, tools, engines and systems | Ensures that quality levels and industry standards are maintained or improved in the manufacturing process | Oversees installation, operation, maintenance and repair of equipment such as centralized heat, gas, water and steam systems | Evaluates mechanical products to determine their cost effectiveness and efficiency | May evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions
Major Position Responsibilities Applies engineering techniques to design, install, modify, analyze, repair and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment. Reads and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports. Confers with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information. Researches and analyzes customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications. Specifies system components or directs modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.Investigates equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew. Basic QualificationsRequired Education: Associates Degree
Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree
Discipline/Major: Mechanical Engineering or othe engineering field required
Years of Experience: 5 -7 years experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Familiarity with complex mechanical systems e.g. Gear trains, transmissions, drive shaftsSolid mechanical engineering background with experience operating in a manufacturing and/or test environmentCompetent in mechanical design utilizing CAD software like CREO, Solidworks, InventorStrong skills in root cause/corrective action (RCCA), and experience in solving non-trivial technical problems efficientlyCompetent with technical writing, verbal communication; able to communicate technically complex topics or ideas to all stakeholders involved in the projectComfortable and confident with developing and presenting ideas, technical topics, designs, solutions, and program information for both internal and external stakeholdersCapable of managing project level tasks, funding, and schedule within the requirements of company policyExposure to reading technical drawings, dimensioned prints, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), capable of performing a tolerance analysisTravel Requirements: less than 25% travel likely
Pay Range (USD) $74,550.00 - $138,450.00 Pay Transparency Statement The salary range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum for salary for this position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, internal equity, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the range during the hiring process. Additional Compensation Hired applicant may be eligible to participate in the Company’s Gain Sharing Program.
