AWS Supply Chain is seeking a highly effective candidate to design and implement innovative solutions that deliver the best operating and lowest cost infrastructure in the world. This individual will manage the relationship with one or more of AWS’s most strategic server development and manufacturing partners. As the commercial head of this relationship, you own cost, performance, contracting and strategy. You will influence and partner with cross functional teams including hardware engineering, supply chain, quality, lifecycle management, operations, compliance and sustainability. A successful candidate will combine a strong knowledge of supply chains with a proven ability to manage complex negotiations, program manage cross-functional teams and effectively operate at all levels of the organization, including to senior executives. Key job responsibilities Lead and orchestrate the end-to-end strategic partnership with suppliers providing critical design, development, manufacturing, and integration services for AWS servers and server rack integration. As Sr. Manager for U.S. West Manufacturing, you will lead and scale your team members to help drive holistic supplier performance optimization across cost, quality, capacity, delivery, compliance, sustainability, and overarching supply strategy. This role requires exceptional leadership in negotiating and executing complex, high-value supplier agreements and contracts, collaborating with cross-functional teams to steer RFPs, evaluate responses, and align on business awards that propel AWS's technological edge. You will spearhead the development and implementation of innovative sourcing strategies that not only meet but exceed AWS's ambitious cost objectives through in-depth analysis of cost drivers and bill of materials. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying and leveraging emerging industry trends to shape supplier product roadmaps that align with AWS's long-term technical vision and manufacturing initiatives. As a trusted advisor to senior leadership, you will craft compelling data-driven narratives and presentations that inform strategic decision-making, highlighting business status, risks, and opportunities. Your role extends to managing high-stakes vendor escalations, providing executive-level updates, and conducting comprehensive business reviews focused on procurement excellence and supply chain resilience. This position demands a visionary leader capable of balancing tactical execution with strategic foresight, driving transformational change in AWS's supplier ecosystem while fostering sustainable, mutually beneficial partnerships. Basic Qualifications - Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or a related technical or quantitative field. - 8 to10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing and hardware manufacturing, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role. - Demonstrated experience in managing and developing high-performing teams, including mentoring junior staff and collaborating with cross-functional leadership. - Extensive experience in negotiating and managing multi-million dollar contracts and strategic partnerships at the executive level. Preferred Qualifications - Master's degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or a related technical or quantitative field. Exceptional candidates with a Bachelor's degree and extensive experience may be considered. - Proven ability to influence C-suite executives and key stakeholders through data-driven insights and strategic recommendations. - Experience in leading large-scale, complex projects that significantly impact organizational performance and bottom-line results. - Track record of implementing cutting-edge supply chain technologies and methodologies to drive efficiency and competitive advantage. The base pay for this position ranges from $164,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $313,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
