EMPLOYER: Charter Communications, Inc.

TITLE: Sr. Manager, Network Engineering

DUTIES: Contribute to the team responsible for the direction of Charter’s backbone network operations. Create strategy and solutions to implement the IP Address Management function. Build technical solutions that monitor, assign, manage, and reclaim IP address space. Gather requirements and create use cases to improve and automate the deployment of assets. Manage business, planning, and design team to fulfill the IP Address Management function. Plan, forecast, implement, and identify resource requirements for IP deployments across network systems of varying complexity. Manage and utilize tools, including IPControl and IPUT, to maintain inventory of IPs and manage them efficiently. Assist in the planning, implementation, and identification of resource requirements for network systems of moderate complexity as well as resolve any issues brought up by trying to acquire those resources. Lead initiatives to be resolved within IPAM, inclusive of scheduling, planning, and technical documentation creation. Lead migration from IPV4 to IPV6. Assist in the development and documentation of technical standards. Address IPV4 and IPV6 unicast and multicast support requests and issue escalation from various lines of business. Integrate communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission, signaling links, and protocols into complete network configurations. Evaluate new products for network deployments. Manage RADb and ARIN IRR, as well as purchase IP preparation. Work with team to develop scripts and programs to discover IP blocks (both static and dynamic) and other information in known and migrating networks. Route networks operating on TCP/IPv4 and IPv6. Route devices running on Multicast and Unicast networks. Route networks using routing protocols OSPF, BGP, and ISIS. Plan and design optical networks. Code in Python.

*Employee will supervise 8-10 employees including 1 System Engineer and 5 Network Engineer and 2-4 Principal Engineers.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a related field. 3 years of experience routing networks operating on TCP/IPv4 and IPv6; routing devices running on Multicast and Unicast networks; and routing networks using routing protocols OSPF, BGP, and ISIS. 1 year of experience planning and designing optical networks; and coding in Python.

*A hybrid (in office and remote) work arrangement is available.

*Salaries depend on geography, experience, and education; negotiations begin at $136,198.

SALARY: $136,198 to $196,400 per year

HOURS: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (40+ hours/week)

The base pay for this position generally is between $136,198.00 and $196,400.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
