The Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) organization is looking for a highly motivated and organized engineer to become the manager of CSE’s Safety/Investigations Team. The team ensures focus on Commercial and Military engine safety-related issues and safety-related read across, enabling CSE to successfully navigate all aspects of the operational safety process with efficiency and urgency. Safety/Investigations engineers play a critical role by working with CIPT’s and IPT’s to ensure that safety issues are identified, quantified, and appropriately communicated; that read-across issues are clearly understood and completed consistently, and that necessary corrective actions are working and tracked. The Safety/Investigation Engineers also aid in maintaining focus on key field investigations and integrating learning across all CIPT’s within CSE as well as MPE, the Flight Safety Office, and other organizations outside CSE. The team serves as a critical conduit to drive Product Safety Culture initiatives through the newly form Product Safety Ambassador program.
What You Will Do
Oversee a group of engineers (and sometimes participate on certain high priority items) who work tactically with CIPTs to resolve and drive closure of operational safety items, including:
Root cause investigations of field events and findingsHazard identification and conceptualization of safety risk analysis (SRA) approachesCoordination of SRA inputs and updatesCommunication to the Products & Services Safety BoardServe as Product Safety Ambassador for CSE with responsibilities including: broad communications in staff meetings and developing action plans from survey results.Provide CSE management visibility to key safety issues, read across items and safety process changes and oversee closure of CSE read across items from the P&W Safety BoardQualifications You Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 10+ years prior relevant experience, OR an advanced degree in a related field and 7+ years’ experience.The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.Qualifications We Prefer

Compression Systems Engineering (CSE)
Compression Systems Engineering is responsible for the design, development, and in service support of all fans low-pressure and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engine models. CSE is responsible for the identification and maturation of new technologies for these products.
Technical disciplines in CSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, and Product Definition.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
This position is open to internal applicants only within Pratt & Whitney. To help sure up our military programs, we are looking to reallocate resources to USG direct charging roles and therefore consider this to be an internal to Pratt movement. We may look to open these opportunities upon more broadly once we complete the initial Pratt talent moves.
