The pay range is $92,000.00 - $166,000.00 Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. A role in Food Safety, Quality, & Regulatory (FSQR) means working in a critical area that will support Target's efforts to identify, prioritize, and minimize areas of food safety risk as well as proactively educate and equip team members by providing simplified tools, processes, and training. Several resources will be available as you leverage technology, metrics, reporting, and communication to monitor and drive compliance in this critical area. You will lead teams that help Target succeed by consistently delivering safe, high-quality, and compliant food and beverages. **Daily Inspections** : The primary focus will be field inspections across a variety of growing regions and floral packing houses, working with several different vendors. The role will inspect floral commodities to forecast issues, lead through quality concerns, and help mediate terms during challenging growing conditions. Team members will communicate quality conditions to multiple business units using multiple formats. **Scorecard Reporting** : During field inspections, team members thoroughly evaluate products and vendors, utilizing analytics to assign performance scores that effectively track quality trends. **Vendor and Merchandising Relations** : This role will establish relations with vendors and suppliers. This person will coach vendors to pack to Target specifications and meet food safety requirements. The role will also effectively communicate between the procurement team and vendors. + Inspect floral commodities for compliance with Target specifications + Provide directions to buyers to replace any rejected product + Search out new and innovative products and packaging + Represent Target in vendor meetings to discuss quality and current/future growing forecasts + Coach and train vendors to improve quality, create and track action plans in collaboration with buyers + Review vendor scorecards to drive improvements + Recommend specification changes based on current crop conditions + Strong negotiating skills to work with cross-functional teams **About You:** + 5+ years of experience as a USDA inspector, private inspection company, floral shipper, or retail floral. Experience can be substituted for education. + Degree or coursework in Horticulture, Agriculture, Botany related fields (preferred) + Ability to collect, assemble, and manipulate data to draw conclusions. This includes using data visualization tools effectively to monitor compliance performance. + Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to facilitate meetings, resolve conflicts, build consensus, establish rapport, and collaborate effectively, internally and externally, across all levels of an organization.
