Sr Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Position Summary

Performs all nuclear medicine examinations that create the images needed for diagnosis; and integrates scientific knowledge and technical skills with effective patient interaction to provide quality patient care and useful diagnostic information.

Primary Position Responsibilities

●Maintain high degree of accuracy and quality in patient positioning, machine set-up, radiopharmaceutical administration, image acquisition and post-processing.

●Follow all National Patient Safety Goals.

●Provide recordkeeping of patient history and symptoms, dose administration, machine quality control and radiation surveys.

●Review orders, explain procedure, answer questions and provide a high level of patient satisfaction.

●Maintains cleanliness of department and assures adequate supply inventory.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

Required:

Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Sciences and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology or equivalent education

 


Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):

Required:

None

Preferred:

1-2 years nuclear medicine technology experience


License, Registry or Certification:

Required:

ARRT Registry or NMTCB Certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology or registry-eligible and NJDEP Nuclear Medicine License

Preferred:

None


Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:

Required:

Knowledge and skill to perform nuclear medicine examinations; and ability to integrate scientific knowledge and technical skills to effectively interact with all patients to provide quality patient care and useful diagnostic information.
