Position Summary
The Senior Oncology Nurse Navigator (SONN) utilizes their oncology-specific clinical knowledge to provide individualized assistance to patients, families, and caregivers to help overcome health care system constraints and facilitate timely access to quality medical and psychosocial care from screening and pre-diagnosis of cancer throughout all phases of the cancer continuum. You will play a pivotal role in providing crucial support for our telehealth virtual program, known as Hope Virtual. You will lead a small team of Medical Assistants and oversee the telehealth and in-basket management needs of a select group of City of Hope physicians. This position combines technology and patient care, offering an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the mission of a leading cancer treatment provider. This position is listed for full-time (exempt), Monday-Friday, and day shifts. The SONN will work onsite in Irwindale, with some travel required to the local clinical network sites.

As a successful candidate, you will:
Ensure the smooth operation of Hope Virtual, including telehealth consultations, in-basket management, and patient support.Collaborate with physicians to deliver high-quality remote patient care in various clinical areas, including Infusion, Medical Oncology, Surgical Oncology, and Hematology.Implement and maintain clinical quality standards, telehealth protocols, and best practices, ensuring adherence to City of Hope's rigorous care standards.Lead and be a resource for a small team of Medical assistants in the field.Provide continuous education and training opportunities for your team to enhance their skills and knowledge, keeping them up-to-date with the latest advancements in telehealth care.Travel to meet with team members in person as needed, fostering close collaboration and providing hands-on support. This role may require 10-20% travel.Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.Qualifications
Your qualifications should include:
Bachelor’s degree in nursingCurrent California RN licenseMinimum of five (5) years of professional nursing experience to include three (3) years of oncology experienceBasic Life Support (BLS) card through American Heart Association (AHA)Current National certification relevant to area of expertise.
