The RoleSenior Engineer position requires a high degree of technical competencies while providing support to Vyvx Broadcast Operations. This position assumes ownership and accountability in areas of IP networking and provides leadership, guidance, and assistance to the Vyvx Broadcast Operations team. Principal work includes designing and implementing IP configurations for Vyvx Broadcast events, performing Tier 3 level troubleshooting and interface with manufacturers and customers as well as enhancing Customer Satisfaction with knowledge of Broadcast Television Transmission. This position will also mentor engineer peers.

The Main Responsibilities Provide data support for Vyvx Broadcast customers and events Includes data design, installation and maintenance for new and current installations.Provide primary engineering design and configuration for data systems in line with Vyvx Services customer goals and requirementsEvaluate new technical requirements for compatibility with deployed system design as well as new products for compatibility and applicability Vyvx Broadcast and Data solutionsMaintain current knowledge base regarding complex routing, switchingMonitor and analyze performance across customer networks and underlying MS Tools Provide high-level technical & engineering support for network performance management configurations, troubleshooting, and service restoration along with an understanding of switching, routing as it would affect performance management.Troubleshoot and resolve complex issuesProvide high-level off-hours support on a rotating basis with other engineersDevelop and oversee subordinate level technical methods, procedures, and assist with complex technical solution designs. Develop & document process flows.Identify capacity and performance issues for network traffic to ensure continued, uninterrupted operation of systems.Maintain network monitoring applications, equipment and utilities as needed.Conduct testing of disaster recovery plans as it pertains to network performance management equipment to detect faults and minimize malfunctions.Create and maintain network documentation and reports as requiredAct as liaison between Vyvx Operations and other Lumen departments and other vendors (e.g. Juniper, Evertz, Ateme, ) on high-level support issues.What We Look For in a Candidate Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience with isolation of telecom and/or network outage causes and service restorations including understanding Juniper characteristics.Direct customer interaction communication skillsProficient PC skills in office applications and network connectivity configurationProficient presentation skills for presentations to technical and non-technical audiences; must be able to translate technical terms and concepts to non-technical entities.Ability to work after hours and weekends to support outages, maintenances and on-call responsibilitiesStrong communication (oral and written), customer service, organizational and multi-tasking skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Layer 2 Ethernet, MPLS and IP using Juniper, Cisco and Nokia router platforms.
