Chewy is currently recruiting for a Senior Operations Manager for our fulfillment center! This leader will be hands-on in a growing environment and will build and maintain relationships with hourly associates, managers, carrier partners, vendors, other Fulfillment Center teams and various departments in the company. We are seeking an individual who will be someone who loves handling ambiguity, change, and enjoys getting into the details to drive improvements every single day!
What you'll do:
Build strong teams while improving procedures, metrics and processesLead and manage a team of Operation Managers and Area ManagersDevelop and coordinate operational procedures for impeccably implementing activities for incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of products, and keeping the highest standards of inventory accuracyDevelop and maintain a safe work environmentResponsible for achieving all operational goalsDrive tactical planning and forecastingLeverage the Operations Managers and Area Managers by sourcing and guiding ideas, and rolling them into the creation of improvement plans for the functional areaMentor, train and develop Operation Managers for career progression and learningAbility to develop and share standard methodologies across the shifts and networkCreate a positive team-based atmosphere setting that encourages all employees in the Fulfillment Center to offer suggestions and inspire change within the facility, adapt to the continuously developing business, and stay focused on the customer experienceDrive continuous improvement to safety, quality, cost, and delivery while growing and expanding capabilities within the Fulfillment CenterUse the site Warehouse Management System (WMS) to optimize impeccable order fulfillment and provide operational insights to improve WMS effectivenessWhat You'll Need:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalentAt least 4 years of management experience in Receiving, Inventory Control, and/or Order Fulfillment or a similar roleExperience with building or improving inventory management, order management, and warehouse management systems and processesEagerness for working in a start-up environment with high level of ambiguity and changeStrong project management and continuous improvement skillsData-centric mentalityCustomer service obsession, with eagerness to surpass standards to satisfy customer needsEffective communicator and leader for employees, subordinates, cross-functional teams and executive leadershipValidated ability to quickly adapt and drive the right results using dataThe highest levels of integrity and ethicsMust be flexible to work weekends and/or night shiftPosition may require travelPhysical job requirements:
Walk up to 2 miles per shiftRarely lift greater than 70 pounds using a team liftStand, push, pull, carry, squat, and kneelClimb up and down stairs (where applicable)
