Sr Payroll Analyst
Position Summary & Responsibilities: Support and lead certain activities for Payroll Analysts/Accountants within scope. Prepares and/or reviews monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll analysis, accruals, reconciliations, audits, and reporting. Prepares and/or supports the analysis of month over month and year over year headcount and salary fluctuations for local and global leadership. Performs special projects as assigned by Associate Director, Payroll. May provide oversight and support of the bi-weekly payroll processing. Ability to extract data from HR, Finance, and Payroll systems. Payroll requires discretion, confidentiality, and sensitivity. + Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards. + Meet all company and regulatory deadlines. + Monitor and ensure compliance with key payroll controls in the company’s internal control program. + Prepare and/or review bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll accruals and expense journal entries with accuracy and timelines. + Prepare, analyze, and review assigned monthly and quarterly payroll balance sheet account reconciliations. + Lead audits and incentives related to payroll, 401(k), and state taxing authorities. + Lead annual reporting related to payroll. + Support the annual budget and performance monitoring processes, as necessary. + Support the annual bonus and merit increase process in collaboration with the HR team, as necessary. + Support bi-weekly payroll processing, as necessary. May lead or participate in pre- and post-payroll auditing/reconciling procedures and troubleshoot anomalies. + Support payroll accountants with expat payroll, reporting, and tracking. + Identify automated ways of eliminating manual data entry or labor-intensive reviews by improving reporting or data importing. + Identify and lead updates to payroll processing software, systems and procedures. + Prepare ad-hoc analysis and reporting for Finance, HR and people leaders as needed. + Prepare or support intercompany payroll invoicing, documentation, and data exchange. + Perform all payroll responsibilities with absolute discretion, confidentiality, and sensitivity. Education, Skills, & Experience: + Bachelor’s degree in Business, with an emphasis in Finance/Accounting preferred, with 3+ years of experience in the payroll and/or finance/accounting field for headcount greater than 500 employees, with experience or knowledge in financial planning & analysis. At least 2 of those years includes leading or supervising a finance or payroll function. + High School Diploma/GED with 6+ years of experience in the payroll and/or finance/accounting field also accepted. + Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills necessary. + SAP or equivalent accounting software preferred. + Attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills. + Effective writing and communication skills. Must maintain excellent documentation for auditing purposes. + Experience with Dayforce or other HRIS/Payroll system is a plus. + Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, with emphasis in accrual accounting and payroll taxes preferred. + Knowledge of current regulations related to payroll, payroll taxes, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) preferred.
