Position Summary:

Operates ultrasound equipment and performs a variety of cardiac congenital procedures to produce images for patient diagnosis. Primary home location in Katy, Texas. may be required to work at other clinic locations in the Greater Houston Metroplex. 

Position Key Accountabilities:

Performs diagnostic cardiac ultrasound exams. Assist the physician to diagnose heart defects or the exact cause of impaired blood circulation. Explains the procedures to the patients. Assists in the operation of ultrasound equipment and records results. Adjusts parameters on equipment and reviews calibrations to assure that scans are reproducible
under similar conditions. Responsible for equipment management, including upgrades and implementation of new
applications. Ensures equipment and systems are kept up to date and compliant with current
standards. Provides in-service training training to new and existing clinical staff and serves as a lead resource to faculty and all sonographers. Trains sonographers, including new employees. Provides system troubleshooting for image archive and data base systems. Assists in establishing protocols; implements and standardizes for all clinical sites. Attends continuing education seminars to stay abreast of technological advances. Performs other duties as assigned.
 

Certification/Skills:

(CV) - ARDMS or ARRT - Cardiovascular Pediatric echocardiography certification required

 

Minimum Education:

Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) an AMA- approved school of Radiologic Technology or its equivalent. Associates degree preferred.

Minimum Experience:

4 years of experience in diagnostic pediatric congenital cardiac ultrasound required.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently and/or up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
