Position Specific Description
NextEra Energy is seeking a technical individual to be part of the NextEra Energy Power Generation team. The Sr. PGD Engineer shall be responsible for reliability monitoring, evaluation, and issue resolution of large scale solar facilities located in Southern California. This position will report The Genesis Solar Plant Manager, under the Power Generation Team, and will work out of the Genesis facility located in Blythe Ca. The position will require travel to other locations within the region as needed for assistance at other facilities.
This individual is responsible for Power Plant reliability and ensures the equipment onsite operates in a safe, environmentally compliant, and reliable manner. Under limited guidance, the individual will perform a variety of routine tasks, which provide experience and familiarity with Engineering staff, methods, practices, and programs after which may independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures while using judgment when making adaptions and modifications. Engineers on the NextEra Energy PGD team can spend a significant amount of time in the field (outside) troubleshooting and repairing all aspects of our facilities. PGD Engineers will be responsible for coordinating with OEM’s, Vendors and Contractors as required to achieve established objectives.
The candidate should be highly motivated with a strong bias for action and capable of working independently as well as part of a team. Bachelor's degree in Engineering highly preferred.

The estimated base pay for this position is $100,000.00 to $150,000.00 per year. Starting pay will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, experience, qualifications, job-related and industry knowledge and skills and education/training.
