**Schedule:** Full Time 40 hours/week
**Shift** : Monday - Wednesday 8:30am - 5:00pm; Thursdays 8:30am - 8:00pm, Friday and Saturdays( **Every other** ) 8:30am - 12:00pm
**Location:** AdventHealth LaGrange Family Residency Medicine Center
**The role you’ll contribute:**
Collects and processes blood specimens for testing, registers patients and serves as a resource to phlebotomy team
**The value you’ll bring to the team:**
• Registers patient information and orders laboratory tests.
• Evaluates test requests for method, time, patient preparation and proper collection procedures.
• Trains new and current staff in the different areas of the department.
• Draws and collects blood samples according to policy. Verifies all related records.
• Labels, processes and delivers specimens for testing according to protocol.
• Maintains, cleans, and sterilizes equipment, instruments, and work area following safety, cleanliness, and infection control procedures.
• Assists with coordinating and conducting blood drives, including interviewing and screening donors.
• Assists with office duties such as OP orders, answering phone, faxing, and filing.
Qualifications
**The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:**
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:**
· High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.
+ **Prior drawing and spinning blood products highly preferred**
+ **Prior Certified Medical Assistant Experience a plus**
**_LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:_**
• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Certification specializing in Phlebotomy credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC).
