The Opportunity
The Senior Prepress Specialist is responsible for creating production ready graphic files per customer, press, and internal manufacturing specifications for the purpose of providing press ready files for the digital printing process. In an overflow capacity, they will provide similar support for flexo preprint printing process.
How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:
Create or edit supplied artwork files to meet customer, press, and production requirements. Collect, read, and understand provided information from the job ticket, instructions, notes, and email while questioning completeness, accuracy, and consistency. Follow standard operating procedures and practices to insure consistent and uniform quality of files. Complete work accurately in a time-sensitive environment. Work as a team player in collaborative deadline-driven environment with a superior focus on detail. Preflight supplied files using appropriate prepress software. Perform quality control on both flexo and digital artwork. Daily/Weekly/Monthly administrative tasks in relation to the digital graphics team Support/follow Westrock safety and culture Participate in team calls Perform other related duties as assignedWhat you need to succeed:
Associate degree (two-year college or technical school) or Work Equivalent in a Graphic Arts related field. 3+ years of experience in prepress processes and systems. Knowledge of digital and flexo preprint an asset. Advanced knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator CC, Photoshop CC and Esko AE Pilot Software. Working knowledge of Web Center, Automation Engine, GMG Color, Pitstop, and Hybrid systems an asset. Advanced understanding of digital printing. Intermediate understanding of the color management tools /processes, packaging industry, flexographic printing and graphics. Ability to convert Adobe Illustrator design elements (vignettes, transparencies) to digital print production ready files. Strong written & oral communication skills Excellent time management, problem solving and analytical skillsWhat we offer:
