Northrop Grumman Space Sector is seeking a Software/Integration Engineer to support a Tactical Space Systems Division in their development, integration, deployment, and sustainment of satellite ground software. This position is located onsite on our Dulles, VA campus, and requires a Top Secret/SCI clearance. After hours or extended work week may be required.

What you’ll get to do:

Develop, modify, and maintain operational programs using software development best practices and standardsSW integration and test for continuous integration validation and deployment of solution to the cloudDeveloper will be expected to be a self-starter capable of making decisions with overall project budget and schedule in mindSupport Operations ground software and associated configurations.  This will involve troubleshooting both software errors and hardware affecting the operation of ground softwareSupport Acceptance Test events, including running testsTest AutomationResolution and remediation of software defectsConfiguration of ground segment softwareResolution and remediation of software defectsSoftware Enhancements as directed by customer change requests or mission needsGround software support during launch and launch rehearsal eventsSupport the installation of new ground segment software in operational, development and test environments

This position can be filled at a level 3 or a level 4.

Basic Qualifications

Principal Engineer:

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) field from an accredited university with 5+ year’s experience (OR a Master’s Degree with 3+ years of experience or a PhD with 1+ years). Experience can be considered in lieu of degree.Familiarity with CICD, containerization, deployment technologies & cloud platforms (Java, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS).Maintenance of natural language tests written in Java which utilize Gherkin/CucumberDemonstrated Java software development experienceFamiliarity with DevOps (Kubernetes/Jenkins)Must have proven experience with troubleshooting software issuesDemonstrated experience in technical problem solving, to include decomposition, root cause analysis, solution development, implementation, and monitoringExisting DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility at time of application

Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00Salary Range 2: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
